Workers at Charlotte airport, an American Airlines hub, go on strike during Thanksgiving travel week...

Avoid a wheelchair, sport. My son-in-law law rolls right thru there in his chair. He is more active than you, obviously.
Are you really saying other terminals are cleaner? BS
Your whine about unions is old and pitiful.

Unions should be unlawful, and certainly setting up a picket line at the freaking AIRPORT should be unlawful.

Pretty easy solution, really. But yes, get mad at the folks making peanuts rather than the folks with the money who run the show.
Throwing someone innocent under the bus for your own benefit is selfish. Pretty much flushes any moral angle...financial or otherwise. Give me what I deserve or I'll screw over this middle-class family of 4 who saved for this trip all year and are struggling just like me. Good stuff.

Strikes aren't supposed to be convenient. That's why they're effective. Perhaps that family should tell the big wigs to pay their staff better so the strike didn't happen. Perhaps that family should unionize at their jobs and earn a bigger slice of the pie so they're not struggling.

This is so freaking wrong. Strikes are supposed to be inconvenient for MANAGEMENT, not for John and Jane Citizen trying to get over the river and the through the woods to Grandma's house for the holiday.

It's inconvenient for management because it impedes their ability to supply a product to John and Jane Doe.

Fly elsewhere. We often go thru Charlotte with no problems.
Same. The only issue we ever had was my wife had a fall trying to make a connection but that was due to a long delay out of Baton Rouge and the airport people who helped her called the gate she was trying to get to and had them hold for a few minutes until they could get her there.

So
Yeah. Fvck the people who are relying on the airlines to get them somewhere for Thanksgiving...possibly the only time they get to see family all year. Screw their finances, families, life experiences, and celebrations.
So instead of the customers being inconvenienced, the workers should just continue to suck it up and hope mgnt comes around on in their favor

Sounds like your argument is with management...just like the workers.

Or they could exercise their right to strike under the NLRA.

Silly federal laws enacted by the people’s representatives.

A 90-year-old law enacted in a completely different time. Most of the union demands that created that law are completely shadowed by other federal protections that we all have today.

Does that model hold at Unity Point? Or do you share the wealth? Please tell us it's the latter and show your integrity.
Strange question that literally has nothing to do with what I posted. We're not union, I would be the first to sign up if we were. I would fully support the nurses and all the support staff is they wanted to unionize. I'm pretty low on the totem pole.

If you'd like to doxx me further, I assure you I'm a pretty open book and have been for far longer than you've been here.

Define: "Deserve".

Should airport trash collectors make more than any other trash collectors in the community? Why? Who decides how much money a trash collector should make? The union?

And if someone else is paying more for trash collectors than the airport (like maybe at the shopping mall), then WHY DON'T THEY SIMPLY QUIT AND WORK AT THE MALL? The airport would then have to raise wages to lure them back.

No union required.

Just out of curiosity, how often does your company cycle though employees? Are the new hires as efficient as the experienced folks that left for better jobs? Is there a learning curve to taking care of old people?

Not really. They all have to be licensed nurses and CNAs. "Loss of institutional knowledge" happens at the higher levels.

You know that answer, but maybe boy trad will follow up.

LOL...watching you rail at unions is always fun. God, I hope I never have anyone I know stuck in one of the facilities you manage staffed by people making less than they pay at McDonalds.
