Iowa State fans annoy me

A few comments stood out to me:

1) I love how Hawk fans belittle ISU's path to the Sweet 16 last year. First of all, they earned at high seed which gave them a lesser opponent in Iona. Next, Purdue (from your league) lost to Little Rock. Why begrudge ISU for that? They still had to play + beat UALR.

2) I always enjoy the 'Ag School" type comments from Iowa fans. A school that celebrates Iowa farmers with ANF should probably not make disparaging comments about ISUs strong Ag programs.

3) If you dont want ISU fans on "your board" (funny I thought the Internet was open + available to everyone), then stop creating threads about Iowa State, and stirring the pot with "Clown" comments, etc.

4) Finally, Prohm will be fine. Yes, they lose a lot after this season, but they are bringing in a solid freshmen class. Like I said before, players come + go, but new stars will emerge. 5 years ago, Niang + Morrjs were unknown. Now they are ISU legends. Same goes for Iowa and every other school.

Agree with all these points. Love how they complain about ISU fans posting on their board when they start a thread saying "Iowa State fans annoy me." What do you expect? All of their longer threads are ISU related, and they say we have a inferiority complex.

And to the poster talking about how the Big 12 sucks... this coming from a team in a league with 14 teams, none ranked in the top 15 or 20 (how is that even mathematically possible, so bad), and maybe 2 ranked in the top 25, with their conference champion currently slated to be a 5-6 seed. Comical!!!!

You'd think Iowa would do well against that kind of weak competition, but alas, they bow out again to a double digit seed in the first round of the Tiny 10 tourney, moving Fran's record to 2-7 in his 7 years.

But I'm sure that's because Iowa doesn't care about the Big 10 tourney. Riiiiiiiiiiigggghhht.

Im picking ISU to the elite 8. They have the senior leadership and come March that is what can carry you far. The only thing I worry about is Burton becoming a walking turnover. it seems when he plays within the system they are damn good. its when he is trying to force it and then they fall apart.

I picked ISU to lose last year first round and they went to the sweet 16. I hope I am not a curse to them.

When Burton is having one of his good games, the Cyclones are very, VERY difficult to beat. But he has bad games, too. What's helped them the last third of the season is Solomon Young's development at PF.

2. The conference tournament is a special thing for Cyclone fans and has been for decades, whether the team has been any good or not. ISU fans just take over the town. Kansas City is a wonderful place for that kind of event -- big enough to offer a lot to do, but small enough that the tournament is the center of attention.

The easy part of realizing how weak Clone fans are is the fact 2 of their 3 biggest threads involve Iowa. It is sad that by tomorrow they will have 10k posts on Iowa basketball and like 7k on Iowa football recruiting. My gridiron buddy who hates many of their posters (mainly CyTwins, Gunner and 1976) told me today at lunch they have had more posts on the Iowa game last night than their semi-final game tonight. That is so sad and pathetic. They argue over who would win on a neutral court Iowa or Texas. JFC I could never fathom arguing on our boards who would be favored on a neutral field ISU or Rutgers in football. It is an unreal little brother culture that is scary and sickening.

They somehow scrape 5 football wins off Iowa in 10 years and think they're the better program. For the majority of their history they have been worse than Iowa at almost everything and largely irrelevant in sports in general. Their 'so proud' coach ended up exposed as garbage. Their idea of god's gift to basketball left them to be below average in the NBA, because its still infinitely better than being at ISU. I'm sure Campbell will be somewhere else in 8 years too.

But I have plenty of friends who are Iowa State fans who aren't that way. And I've been around plenty of Iowa fans who were absolute embarrassments to me. People see what they want.
