Iowa State internal fighting.

Thought Jacobson was a DB. Maybe I’m wrong. Displayed some nice leadership there trying to get the misfit in order.
have to agree with you. I too thought his antics were a joke but now he may be the only adult in the room. And that includes the coach.

He won't go back to ISU.

You're saying Fred won't agree to do it or that ISU won't invite him back?

The fans are going to want him back. Say whatever you want about Prohm, but as a Hawkeye fan I fear Fred on the sideline a heck of a lot more than Prohm.

Fred and Cael left ISU because the AD and fans are nuts

You’d think they would have some self awareness by now, but no.

All true. Stand by everything I said there.

How can you not put blame on Lard? What chance is he on? 6?

Prohm is a joke to keep him on the team this long and it's coming back to bite him.

The attitudes on this team seem to be wearing off on the younger guys too (THT and Conditt).

Angrily shoving your teammate on the floor during a game isn't leadership.

Because the blame going to one guy when this is a total meltdown is absurd.

Bryce, you're pretty level headed... your thoughts on Hoiberg? Do you think ISU will pursue him?

Prohm has lost the team because he isn't a disciplinarian. Kicking Lard off the team would have maybe provided some kind of repercussion for his actions. The others see that you can get away with everything and are acting like it. Prohm is letting the inmates run the asylum.

That stuff is just stupid. Prohm isn't getting fired. I'm highly doubtful of Hoiberg's desire to even coach in college again as well, especially at a school where there aren't just huge built in recruiting advantages.

No way Prohm is getting let go before 2021. I think next year will tell the story on what his career will be at ISU. If ISU is back in the cellar I think he's going to totally lose the fanbase and from there it's just playing out the string.

There is absolutely no way to know this for sure. When discussing all of the infighting earlier this week Lard's name was nowhere to be found. I know he's a favorite whipping boy, and he's brought a lot of it on himself, but as of right now there is zero evidence anything happening is his fault.

Right or wrong Prohm is who he is and he's going to do things his way. He really takes the father figure stuff seriously. He's very invested in Cam and unless the guy really does something bad you aren't going to see him off the team.

If I’m a player who’s had as many chances as Lard has, the last thing I’m doing is laughing and having a good time on the bench while my team is getting beat by 16 to a BAD team.

Lard knows he has his coach wrapped tightly around his little finger. Knows he can get away with whatever and still get more chances. The other guys see that and quietly lose all respect for coach. Then you see what we saw last night.

Someone should do a side by side photo of Lard laughing on the bench at WVU and Bohannon and a teammate (can’t remember who) looking dejected on the bench vs Rutgers.

I'm inclined to think its more the former. He was acting like a clown during the iowa game trying to grab the ball from CMac when the clock was going to zero. Can't remember if he was involved in the other skirmish during the game but wouldn't surprise me.

sounds eerily familiar to what's going on here

He (Jacobson) was the only Clone involved in the skirmish in the first half... besides Prohm that is.

Williams being the everlasting tool that he is tried to put a positive spin on it. LOL.
If he wants access to the coach for news and interviews... he has to spin it positive.
It’s not just Williams, he says this and then their fans pick it up and run with it, just like Bryce did with the Prohm cares so much about Lard crap. Let’s be real, he has no front court and absolutley needs Lard for bodies. That’s it!

So next year could be worse than last year for isu basketball?

I say this with a bit of jealousy, but they'll just reload with transfers / grad-transfers.

Now, I'll say this with a bit of schadenfreude - sometimes that leads to chemistry issues and backfires.

You know when local breweries are making beers named "Transfer Brew" and marketing it to ISU fans that happily drink it, the label is embraced.

ISU is reaping what it sowed. Anybody who is worthy of a month long suspension shouldn't be on the team in the first place, especially after his other issues. I forgot, there were two of them. Pull a bunch of disgruntled transfers that don't want to follow their previous coach's rules and well....
Add in that Fred isn't there to cover asses and schmooze police, and you get ISU.

Here are the grad transfers Prohm has landed at ISU:

Merrill Holden
Jeff Beverly
Zoran Talley
Hans Brase
Darrell Bowie

Here are the sit out transfers:

Marial Shayok
Prentiss Nixon
Michael Jacobson
Ray Kasongo

He's not exactly knocking it out of the park with transfers. Shayok is his best by far and then probably Jacobson? His grad transfer recruiting has been terrible.

Why be jealous? Do you honestly think Iowa, or any other team for that matter, couldn’t load up on transfers? There’s a reason why it’s not common and ISU is showing us why.

They're going to be really desperate to get Hoiberg back in Ames. I called this a long time ago. It will happen.
Hoiberg had the same types of rosters, transfer, misfits, some basic recruits, but seemed to make it work. Of course, the was the Mayor and had the ISU police on his side. Anyway, didn't Ochleberger (spelling, whatever) do the recruiting?
