Iowa State still likes the troubled thugs

isu and its fans get treated exactly how they deserve to be treated both here and in the world in general. They act like douches and wonder why the world treats them that way.

I don't see any OTC cure for that.

Idk about their illness, but for what you have I think they still sell rat poison in large quantities at the hardware store.

I do my best to act just like isu fans. Well except for the racial slurs they toss at Iowa cheerleaders. Oh and Pollard acts so great he was fined $50k for it. But do tell us how it really is.

# it's not fair

If some of the stuff about Bryce is true, he may have been thuggish.

The thuggish that I can think of from Iowa recently would be Bonecrusher Williams

Looks like Prohm cut him loose. Don't blame him. He needs to figure his life out and that's more important than basketball. Prohm doesn't need that headache especially when he didn't even recruit him.

Best of luck to the kid as I hope he turns his life around.
Bowlsby said the B-12 is going to have a new policy to require more diligence for looking into transfers' pasts. Not saying this would have affected any of ISU's basketball transfers. He was quoted as saying he expects the policy to cast a broad net.

FYI.......

From Oklahoma and the Joe Mixon issue, to Tyreek Hill going from Bedlam hero to kicked off the team and now with the recent events happening in Waco, the past year for Big 12 teams haven't exactly been great, especially if you're working for the public relation teams.

Regardless of how these situations was or is being taken care of by each team, there is one clear problem: the athletes have got to stop doing stupid things. One league, the SEC has already made moves to make sure events like such don't happen.
In an ESPN article from May, the SEC adopted a proposal that stated:
"a transfer student-athlete who has been subject to official university of athletics department disciplinary action at any time during enrollment at any previous collegiate institution (excluding limited discipline applied by a sports team or temporary disciplinary action during an investigation) due to serious misconduct (as defined herein) shall not be eligible for athletically-related financial aid, practice or competition at an SEC member institution."

Now, the Big 12 has began to take a stand, according to ESPNs Brett McMurphy, who sent out this Tweet Wednesday.

Hoiberg would be a sub .500 coach with those types of rules.

I think you kind of have to go that route.... I mean look how horrible Baylor is looking right now after allegedly covering up a convicted rapist.

Hoiberg was given a program in shambles so he took a few chances on guys with checkered past. I don't blame him for giving those guys a second chance, but yeah that could also have blown up on him.

Looking back it appears clear that Hoyburger knew he was only going to coach ISU for 5 or less years. He opted for the quick fix route and went mostly after transfers and jucos. He quickly built a very good team, didn't worry about developing players and was off to the races. It was a hell of a strategy even though it was not a sustainable long term model. Again, looking back it was a pretty smart thing for him to do and even though he recruited some really bad people he will be loved still by all in Ames, even though he turned his back on the school almost from the very beginning. It could have gone very badly but he was fortunate and to his credit he mostly did a good job with his crew of cast-offs as far as any of them getting in trouble. It helped immensely that he had help from the local police. It looks like Prohm is off to a good start but he kind of inherited a mess. (Even though there is a lot of talent). I think he will do real well in Ames but he will do it in a different way I think.

This year and next year will decide if its sustainable long term. The best you can hope is the success and fast tempo style makes talent want to keep coming.

99% of ISU fans don't see it as him turning his back on ISU. Any fool would be crazy not to take a shot at the highest level in their profession.

He got an owi. Doubt they are just "throwing stuff to stick" at him for that. Don't care if you are 18, 35 or 50 getting caught driving drunk you are an idiot and have zero excuses for it.

On other side have heard stuff about some personal family issues not sure specifics but sounds like les to him and Marquette parting ways.

So in your mind, is it the "getting caught" that makes you the idiot, or the actual act of having a couple of drinks and getting behind the wheel? Because I'm sure no one posting here has ever done that....

Both. I'm sure people who have done it and not gotten caught probably regret it the next day and probably think how stupid it was and lucky to have not gotten busted or worse injure someone else. You play with fire you deal with consequences if you get caught. My original response was to someone downplaying the owi as if the cops are just throwing charges at him and it was a dumb decision by a kid. Just alluding to its dumb no matter how old you are kid or not.
