Iowa vs. MSU - 2015 Facts

I agree it will come down largely to line play. Can Iowa get to Cook or at least hurry him and get him out of his comfort zone? Can Iowa stop the run? Can Iowa's O-line give CJ time? Can Iowa establish the run? The answers to these questions will have a lot to do with who wins this one.

12-0 including Nebraska. I don't know you tell us Einstein.
I guarantee Iowa isn't intimidated whatsoever, you're still and always Michigans little brother and our bitch.

Very uncalled for post. Not a lot of smack talk in this thread, so that's why I feel it is uncalled for.

My .02 on this game. MSU is the toughest team the Hawks will have played all year. Perhaps tougher than some teams that will be in the CFP, whether we are or not.

The one thing I think is in MSU's favor is that Iowa hasn't had one of those big blowup, screwup disaster plays that cost them a game yet this year. We certainly did at Nebraska and had it coming. Bama's ole Miss thing. Oklahoma's Texas failure. I'm predicting that North Carolina will give Clemson their medicine next week. Notre Dame just got it. Michigan's fumble fiasco. Ohio State and the weather....and hubris.

Not saying you can't get through a season without one. To go undefeated you could say you almost have to avoid it. The Spartans have the small advantage that they've had their "disaster" and survived it. They got both their miracle win (Michigan) and loss (Nebraska) out of the way. It's almost like they're playing with the houses money.

I think Iowa is dangerously and confidently good. I don't wish failure on anybody, but just sayin'.....have you had your "Oh no, I can't believe that just happened...." moment?

You could call Desmond King's muffed punt deep in our territory last week such a moment. It led directly to a NE TD, but the Hawks overcame it and forced a bunch of turnovers, themselves.

I see a hard-fought, well-played game coming this Saturday. Turnovers will be key if they happen, but I don't think they'll be any more likely to affect Iowa than MSU.

Its moreso the fact Nicholson is now playing like a stud at safety, we got a starting corner back, and our OL is finally healthy since the Oregon game.

As you know, games are won in the trenches. I give MSUs DL a slight advantage over your OL but our OL a decent sized advantage over your DL.

Plus the QB position seems to heavily favor MSU. I guarantee Cook will make multiple clutch throws vs Iowa. Can Beathard come up big?

So Cook plays big just like the Purdue game?

Cook passes for 1 td and 139 yards in the Purdue game. Beathard 3 tds and 213 yardsvs Purdue.

MSU gets 3 turnovers from Purdue as well and only wins 24-21. Iowa wins vs Purdue 40-20.

Cook is a good QB I will give you that. I will take an injured 12-0 Beathard any day over Cook.

This game is going to be close, however you want to look at it. Teams are very similar. Go Hawks!

Game winning field goal vs Pitt.

Coble fumbles at the goal line Vandenberg recovers td vs Ia St.

Fumble recovery vs Nebraska in the red zone.

Fumble by Wisconsin on the goal line. Huge play!

Beathard leaps over defenders at goal line vs Indiana.

Beathard 3rd down 49 yd completion in Illinois game.

Daniels 51 yard run in Minnesota game.

Just a few plays I can think of that potentially changed the way things could have gone this season.

12-0 Go Hawks!
