I already think Addie Deal will be one of our absolute favorite Hawks to wear an IA uniform. Talent, a team first attitude, and servant leadership will take her, everyone for that matter, very far in life,

Any info on how she is leaning? I assume if it was Iowa there would have been some chatter..Manuella Alves is committing today.
I would crystal ball Illinois.Any info on how she is leaning? I assume if it was Iowa there would have been some chatter..

As always I'm going to ask because I always see these posts and never know where that comes from. Did we offer Olsen swarm money? My understanding was all the gals got 10-12K. I didn't think the swarm had much more available cash lying around.Crooks needs multiple breaks in faster pace games.
She's good, no doubt, but Iowa might be able to neutralize her playing a fast pace.
One other random opinion...if Iowa had $$$ for Olsen, they should have $$$ for at least one, top portal player every season.
Agree totally. AOG has shown the last coupe of years that she is capable but not consistent. Both Lisa and Jan talked about that late last year that the biggest issue for the team going into tournament play was that between AOG, Goodman, and AJE, no one had stepped up to take that starting spot by their consistent play. Thats really an issue when your talking about three 4th year players.....She has much more agility and quickness than O'grady. The biggest issue with O'grady is the lack of aggressiveness, she is 6'3 to 6'4" but doesn't play like a player of that size. Rankings are not everything, but all things being equal if you had O'grady coming out in the same here as Heiden and Hays, I truly think O'grady would be the lowest ranked of the 3. We have been running with Centers that are 6'3" or shorter for the last 10 years. Czinano, Stuelke, Gustafson.
I have no idea, but besides Swarm, I think there are separate revenue sources available to team members. As always I'm going to ask because I always see these posts and never know where that comes from. Okay thanks Mitch. I appreciate the input.I have no idea, but besides Swarm, I think there are separate revenue sources available to team members.
As an example, Elite Resorts(Riverside) has promos.
Last year, Gabriel had one. This year, it's Affolter and Steulke.
I would crystal ball Illinois.
We were recruiting a gal from Alaska. Don't remember if it was this year or next. Any info appreciated.

We do have a good backup for Hannah. Her name is Teagan Meleigni. (sp)Our clear need, next year and for 2026 is a couple of talented 3/4 players with decent size. We really don't even have a good backup for Hannah this year. We've swung and missed a few times. But let's not ignore possible transfer portal players. Iowa would be an attractive option.

Hawkbuck,Houston is not a 2. Houston could guard a 2, but is not a 2 offensively. Speiser is a 2-3. Not stellar defensively, but can shoot it with extended range. Attack is pushing her to improve on the defensive end and challenge for more rebounds. Houston plays hard ALL THE TIME and is quick off the dribble to the rim. Not sure how that will play at the next level, due to the length and athleticism of the competition. Both have another 2 years of high school and another year of Attack. Scary how good both could be come a year from now. Divine Bourrage has had a spectacular summer. Heard she is getting attention from all the big programs. That '25 class with Attack is extremely talented. Bourrage, Houston, Speiser, Zediker (Creighton commit) and Fandel. The Iowa State commit, Tanke, has shot it at a high level this summer and a couple of Drake commits (Knutson & McCabe) provide threats off the bench. Head coach's kid from Northern Illinois gets rave reviews from the staff in Ames (Carlsen?).
Yes, ideally you want height. However, it didn't hurt us to make the Natty the last two years with McKenna and Kate at 4. Kate and Sydney at the 3. Yes, I realize CC opens the floor. However, I believe we have several more 3-pointer player options for kick-outs when Lucy drives for her middy and a double team comes or Lucy's craftiness can do it on her own if no double team. The thing I like about Teagan is she hit a couple 3s 12"+ behind the line where McCabe hugs the line more.
4 Position:
'22-'23 McKenna Warnock was 6'1".

'24-'25 Hannah Stuelke is 6'2"
'24-'25 Teagan Mallegni is 6'1". Seems to fit the McKenna and Kate role.
'24-'25 Kylie Feuerbach is 6' and same as Kate.

Jada Gyamfi at 6'3" has not been productive yet to take down either role as backup. I think Teagan has passed her already.
Teagan Mallegni seems fearless so far. I wouldn't count out her or Kylie as at least serviceable to good backups for both positions when compared to the last two years.
Also, iirc, Kylie roomed with CC. Kylie might have put too much pressure on herself not to fail and feel CCs wrath living with her. I think that Kylie is now out from under that, she might just play more lose and hopefully hit more 3s this year.
2025 Journey Houston looks closer to 6"1" now where she is mostly listed as 5"11". She looks taller then Addie Deal at 6'. Which should help her move up a position or two if needed.
I'm not disagreeing. We need all the height we can get. Thinking we have the minimum needed to cover them now, but enhancing the height of 3/4 would be more encouraging if we can get it.
Maybe I'm missing your point here or what are your concerns that these players don't meet the "good backup" role?
You're missing understanding it a bit of what I meant.I would like to hear more about CC's wrath on Kylie F.
Sounds great to meKylie F does have a Covid year available if she wants to come back for the 25-26 season. She might be ready to move on with her life, but option exists.
Correct! She got 1 year extra for the injury + 1 year extra for covid. She's a 2020 grad so it gets her out to the end of '26 if she wants it.Kylie F does have a Covid year available if she wants to come back for the 25-26 season. She might be ready to move on with her life, but option exists.
You could have a point here. I also think it could have more to do with the fact that up until last year Kylie sat out 2 seasons due to being a transfer and then tearing her ACL. This and the fact that last season she rarely was in any game long enough to get in any type of rhythm may be why we’re hopefully seeing her take a bigger step forward this year. Having a little longer leash where she’s playing without the fear of being yanked may be helping her play a bit more loose. You're missing understanding it a bit of what I meant.
"Kylie might have put too much pressure on herself not to fail and feel CCs wrath living with her."
If you're living with someone and they say something, say about AOG, Goodman or anyone else on the team about messing up over and over again, and it runs through your mind (Kylie) that hey if I (Kylie) wasn't here in this room with CC, she could be saying that about me (Kylie) as well.
This is where Kylie "might" have put too much pressure on herself "not to fail" and feel [the potential of] CCs wrath. Meaning in the back of her mind she needs to play certain way to STAY AWAY from the possibility of feeling CCs wrath. Maybe wrath is too strong of word for you? An embellishment of this type of situation would be called Kylie is walking on egg shells. To mitigate the situation, you watch your step around this person. This can happen when living in close quarters with someone else for many months at a time. I'm not saying this "possible" situation came to this degree of "possible" pressure. I'm just saying there's a possibility because of CCs propensity to lash out for undesirable situations. My take is that no one is immune to that. When you're living with someone, you want to sleep well at night, so you adjust accordingly.
She only sat out after her knee injury. She played for Iowa in 21-22.You could have a point here. Really? My mistake, I guess I didn’t remember it that way.She only sat out after her knee injury. She played for Iowa in 21-22.
