Teach a man (or woman) to fish...

I hate to be the stick in the mud, but they really need to do something about the way players carry the ball. Not once did she dribble without starting with her hand palm up under the ball and then rotate the ball to where her hand was on top before pushing it to the floor. Its crazy......

I would think Jan and staff are looking at four in next years class to balances out the classes. We are in good shape in the Post. A PG (hoping it's Lewis), a wing and two PF's. The coaches have been very successful getting top 25 players to visit, this could be a very, very good class if the dominos fall their way.

I think they stopped calling that in the 70's. Not a thing anymore.

I know but its still funny. I mean all these gals in college and especially in the pro's talk about how their game is more pure because they play the game the right way with better fundamentals. Then you watch the game and everybody carries the ball, and the traveling is ridiculous. Not to even get into the fouling and grabbing. Sorry. Just watching that video really got me going.. Lolol..

This, absolutly.

She literally carries the ball.

It is technically a simple double dribble in the middle of a dribble, or a travel if the palming effect slows the start of the dribble as they begin taking steps, although rarely called, as there is no such thing as the commonly referred to "carrying the ball". Agreed it happens commonly, is rarely called, and frankly a big advantage when used to freeze the defensive player.

I know that I used to assume that a player couldn’t make contact below the equator of the ball; they had to dribble, not carry the ball. I remember when the NCAA decided to watch for palming/carrying the ball by men’s players. It was a rough season to watch because of the frequent turn overs from carrying. It is hard to go from no call to turn over ever play.

I would be shocked if Iowa isn't on this list with their whole family visiting recently on their own dime.

Player Rankings:
ASGR: #7
Prospect Nation: #5
JR All Star: #8
ESPN: #6
247Sports: #5
Blue Star Basketball: #22
On3: No rankings out yet

I replied, "Iowa visits aren't about marketing, you're seeing who we are."
Got a 'like' from McKenna.

All I have heard on this site is she was no longer considering Iowa. Do not remember the poster's that has all the inside info, but he seemed pretty sure she was no longer considering the Hawks. Something change?
Top X lists don't always mean a player's interest in each school is equal. Skinner had a top 5, but didn't visit two of the schools on the list before committing.

As far as changes, the information for a while was that Duke was a favorite, but Skinner just committed there. That doesn't necessarily mean Greenway won't, but it could be something that changes her mind.

To the extent you think Instagram likes might reflect a player's interest in a school Greenway has liked most of Kentucky's posts from the past couple weeks. She liked one post from Clemson in the same time period and no posts in the same period from Duke, Stanford, Iowa, or UCLA.

On a more positive note, Lewis liked a lot of Iowa posts and I didn't see her name listed for those other schools. Edit: also no likes for Notre Dame or Iowa State (her recent visits).

Bottom line is she still has two years of H.S. left, Perspectives and priorities change as you go through the growing up process, I have no idea what her priorities are but I do know my perspective on things changed from when I was 15 vs when I was 17.

It’s awful. Everywhere every level. How can you defend someone that can carry for a count and skip and go the other direction.

They all have the same advantage. What I really hate is NIL! Not a fair playing field for 90% of colleges 😩 I’m talking all collegiate sports!
That’s like saying you can put two hands on the guy dribbling as long as you don’t actually call the rule as written elsewhere.
I agree on nil.

I think she’ll end up at Iowa. She no doubt loves Iowa she has been pretty quiet about her recruiting. Dad and Mom will be a huge factor. I think as she grows, she will realize she is destined to be a Hawkeye.

While I would like to have Greenway at Iowa, it seems like a couple of years ago she was more of a priority in order to get a high profile player post-Caitlin. Now with a bunch of high profile players already committed, I feel like Greenway would be a good addition rather than a critical piece for our future.
