Iowa women #2 in the nation

Much thanks for the review, Shikreto! I remember Martin with the face shield and thought Warnock maybe missed a game or two as well. CC's passing is nails and her teammates seem so locked in to their roles; bench players, too. And excellent team summaries. When the brackets are released Sunday, please share Iowa's opponents' strengths & weaknesses all the way to the championship game.
Warnock did miss some games, including OSU, which we won handily! The other one or two weren’t very high profile, we were able to win without her just fine. In one Clark and Czinano combined for an obscene number of points.

We got relatively lucky with the timing and length of her absence (the opposite of last yr, when she hurt her arm at the same time Gabbie injured her shoulder).

Everyone was available for the NC state game, that really was as bad as it gets and as the season has gone on, it’s continued to look worse and worse. Our Ls vs NC State, K State and even Illinois (no one else in the top tier of the B1G lost to them) and Maryland (the margin) are all question marks of various magnitude for someone evaluating our resumé. As is our OT win over Drake.

Fortunately the committee tends to weight recent games more than early games. Last year they did this rather dramatically for us.

Haha...Some big name programs, right?
Give us your criteria for big name programs and we can take a look.......or is it 'has to have been to the sweet 16 more than twice in the last 22 years'
The '#2 teams don't have losses like that' was pretty easy to go back when just looking at runner ups the past few years.
Having some facts on your side would help the trolling effort.

At this point the womens success in the tournament will be dependent solely on matchups, which at this stage are more important than seedlings. My biggest fear are matchups against athletic teams that play a slowdown game. Bring on the run and gun opponents.
Also IMO most of those trolling our womens team are those fans who are marginal womens BB fans.

Another dangerous type team is the tall team. Did the women hawks lose to a really good Baylor team in the last few years because Baylor had a lot of height, a few taller than any hawks

We did lose to Baylor in 2019 in the elite 8. But Baylor is no longer Baylor. I don’t think a team like that really exists outside of South Carolina.

Prediction: The selection committee makes us a 2 seed, but screws us over by putting us in South Carolina's bracket.
Seems to be a constant in most bracket, men or women, destinations. Just need to finally break through in one of these games.

And SC might be unbeaten but they aren’t UConn from a few years back. Those Huskies would steamroll the Cocks.

Clark is the real deal so even if they don’t get the best seed I have high confidence they will make noise in the tourney - go hawks!!

You maybe right, but if I remember correctly SC had back to back stellar recruiting classes including one with 4 five stars that included the number 2,3,6 and 14 rated players

Nationally, the 5th best player in CC's HS graduation class was a Center who signed with Syracuse. She's now on SC's roster. Unreal the amount of talent Coach Staley has.

If Clark lights it up from downtown there isn’t anyone in the country they can’t beat.
