Iowa won the battle but Nebraska won the war

Nebbie fans refuse to admit it but Iowa will return 8 starters on offense and 8 starters on Defense. Iowa is not going to go backward. this years team is loaded with underclassmen that started and also played.

the DL returns the 2 leaders in the BT in sacks in Eppenesa 10 sacks, Anthony Nelson 10 sacks and both are tied for 7th nationally. as a team they return 28 of 34 sacks which puts Iowa tied for 13th nationally.

the offense returns 1917 rushing yards out of 1944 yards
QB Stanley will be a SR and has gone from 2477 yards passing in 13 games to 2636 passing yards in 12 games

they lose 437 yards from that total
total offense that returns 4143 yards thru 12 games

that's a solid group to start the season with. poor poor Nebbi fans thinking that everybody is going to step aside and let them rule the West like they dream about.

At least twice where an Iowa RB had 4 huskers hanging on and could not take them to the ground. The extra 20 yards Hock got dragging the pesky little Husker was glorious as well. better get them on the weights Scotty. This aint Florida.

Turn in your gear losers. Season ovah!
Lucky Nebraska. They don't have to practice anymore this year and worry about packing for a bowl game, etc. They get to focus on their educations and enjoying that beautiful December weather they have in Nebraska.

So Nebraska's been winning the war for 4 years now? You are pathetic, Nebraskans are pathetic. I hope for your sake Nebraska gets a pro team or some other sort of deterrent. It is seriously unhealthy the way you guys obsess over, make excuses for, and really twist the truth about College football.

Frost came in there and showed Iowa who the new big boys on the block are. At least thats my observation.

Great game to watch though! The narrative in Lincoln will be that Nebraska will win the Big Ten next year.
I know there have been over 100 replies to this nonsense already, but as a fellow Nebraska fan SHUT THE HELL UP! Can we not be optimistic about the future of the Husker football program without acting like a delusional arrogant tool?! Our football team finished 4-8 for the second straight year. Let's wait until our team can actually win 9 or 10 games a year again before anyone even considers getting an over-inflated ego about a team that in the past few years hasn't done a damn thing! Jesus Christ, it's people like you that give the few of us rational Husker fans a bad name because of the drivel you continue to spew. Your observation? It's hard to take your observation seriously when your head is still up your own ass!

By the way, it makes no sense that someone would win a war despite losing the most recent battle, let alone the four most recent. Like 0.0%. And I will give a 99.99% guarantee Nebraska won't win the Big Ten next year. I hope I'm wrong as I would love Nebraska to do something like that, but at the same time I also would hate for it to happen because it would give morons like you an actual reason to have an ego.

It hurts the program not to be in a bowl. Those extra practices are as much about next year as they are bowl preparation.

On the plus side I think you lose three starting OL, which is probably a good thing. The game plan of short quick passes was a good one but I also think Frost knew Martinez wasn't going to have alot of time in the pocket.

Agreed. The thing many Nebraska fans don't realize is that in order for this all to be effective in the long-term, it's going to take another 3 or 4 years to gradually build things up. Acting like Nebraska is going to all of the sudden flick the switch and become great again is beyond delusional to the point of being borderline insane. Rome wasn't built in a day.

They’d better have a good back-up QB because running QBs take their careers into their hands each time they take off.

The fact that Iowa coudnt beat frost by more than three at home this year is a bad sign. Wait until Frost gets his guys in.

Its Nebraskas division moving forward. This is a top 15 team that just happens to be 4-8.

Y'all seriously need to consider staying within 3 scores of Bucky Badger before making such a preposterous claim.

If it’s one thing Huskirt fans have learned well the last 15-20 years is tough talk, that never comes to fruition. Nebraska will never be a dominate program. They will forever struggle just to win the West mostly because Scott Fraud is highly over hyped. UCF is winning without him. Poor pathetic Husker fan who thinks the 90’s are back. Get a life!

The OP is why I consider Nebraska to be at least a full notch below Iowa State. Iowa State fans were disappointed to lose close games to Iowa the last two seasons. Nebraska fans are just happy they didn't lose by 4+ touchdowns again.

Go be optimistic on the husker board

Nebraska won a couple of skirmishes yesterday but has lost the last 4 battles and is losing the war.

They are either too stubborn or too stupid to recognize their inadequacies and deficiencies.

For all of the alleged talent they have, Frost sure screwed the pooch.

If the season started 10/20 the Huskers would absolutely be a top 25 team

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL!

Holy schnickies, this one takes the cake!

Ok, so maybe Neb isn't quite as hapless as they were early on in the season, but you realize you have beaten absolutely no one of significance in this late season renaissance of yours, right?

Good God, nothing wrong with being optimist about your team, but have some self-awareness, and don't act like such a moron on the board of a team that just beat you.

Actually, Penn St was better in 94 and Michigan was better in 97 but they didn't settle it on the field back then. They were voted national champs.

Oklahoma was .500 or losing record those years and Texas didn't even join the league until 96. So they rode a joke conference all the way those days. Those days are long gone. The VHS comment was great
I have to agree. I think Michigan would have beat Nebraska. That defense was epic. I would have loved to have watched that game.

Got to love nebraska friends who like to pound their chests, especially in losses. And you have to love the nebraska fans who like to think that scott frost did more with less, and that we should enjoy this victory because it's the last year it will win. Well, first of all, you have been beating your chests since last century and nothing has changed. Secondly, you been telling us the last four years to enjoy it because it wasn't going to happen again, and it did. Thirdly, the scott frost fans who think he can walk on water because he did more with less should remember the recruiting rankings the last several years. Looks like you've done less with more, and it still continues. But hey there's always next year. You people sound like our little brother, but we already have a little brother called Iowa state, and we don't need an orphan brother to go along with them. So please nebraska fans, you have been weighed, you have been measured, and here we been found wanting. ;)

you actually think that mediocre team has a shot at winning the conference next year?
Are you serious?
Big boys that got pushed around most the day?
Thanks for the laugh :D

What's worse is they didn't actually beat anyone! They beat a piddling FCS team, a horrible Illinois team, an average Minnesota team, and a Sparty team with more injuries than a M*A*S*H unit, that is currently fighting for dear life just to beat Rutgers! If anything, their 4 wins are more smoke and mirrors than anything else!
