Iowalaw's Thoughts After Rewatching the Purdue Game

Did you actually watch the game? We got up 20-0 and protected the lead. Old Kirk. Quit trying to score, prevent defense, prevent offense. Been watching it for years.

Were you at the game? Did you observe the ball movement on every single throw into the wind? Hell, one of CJ's passes to MVB looked like a damn curve ball. Did you watch Kidd and Kuehn's punts? It was an obvious factor on play calling by both teams into the wind. And, as pointed out by someone earlier, King was noticeably limping in the second half. He did not appear to be 100%.

You are highly underestimating the weather and its effect on the game. A cold, slippery football going into the wind played a huge factor in this game. If you've ever played football into November, you would know everything becomes more difficult with a cold, hard ball. Add a little wind on top of that and it becomes even more difficult.

In the Iowa/Purdue game 46* points were scored going with the wind and only 14 points were scored going against the wind.

*VandeBerg's 7 yard TD was scored at 14:27 in the second quarter going against the wind, the bulk of that drive was with the wind so I count those points as going with the wind.

I think we have learned every game won't be pretty and there will always be some takeaways each and every week. In my mind, a win is a win no matter what ... Don't care how you got it ... If you're 11-0 some balls bounced your way throughout the season.

I do hope we can protect CJ on Friday ...

I just hope Morgan dials up more substitutions on the d line and maybe some lb blitzes so that our secondary doesn't continue to look like Swiss cheese. King said this week that the DBS hAd a lot of blown assignments vs Purdue.
