The Hawks 2010 Recruiting Class was ranked #1. Did they get it done? Evans was the #4 Recruit coming out of high school and his best place finish was 6th, did he under achieve? Moore and Dziewa were both top 15 guys and they failed to AA, were they a bust?

How will the current guys from the class of 2015 do - Kemerer #8, Turk #67, Holloway #79, Wilcke # 86. How will the class of 2016 end up - Marinelli #3, Happel #25, and Young #66. I think both these classes will out do the #1 Class of 2010 I think they will have at least two national champs out of the class of 2015 and 2016?

#4 Mike Evans – 3X AA - 6th, 6th, 6th, NQ

#11 Nick Moore - BUST?

#12 Josh Dziewa - BUST?

#19 Bobby Telford – 3X AA – 5th, 4th, NQ, 5th

#31 Jake Ballweg - BUST?

#74 Mike Kelly - BUST?

#79 Anthony Baldosaro -BUST?

That absolutely was a monster class. I don't think any one could have possibly predicted Nick Moore to do what he did. In all fairness he did have a great junior year but just didn't have it at nationals. He was a Fargo champ(beat Kokesh) and a 4xer coming out of Iowa so he had a ton of expectations. Telford had some tough luck but I'll take 100 of him. Evans was an odd one. He was an 89 pounder in HS and wrestled 165 and 174 in College. He was still a top guy in college so I think he did just fine. I don't think Dweiza was the right fit for Iowa. Jake Ballweg quit pretty early on in his career so tough to call him a bust.

Too much money, blood, sweat and tears tied up in that class relative to the results they achieved. Hopefully, many lessons were learned with that class.

From the comments I've heard and read early warning signs will now be taken very seriously.

IIRC it was DSJ that beat kokesh at Fargo. Moore beat Kelly I think. That doesn't change much, Moore just didn't get it done along with the majority of the 2010 class.

Been trying to tell people this for years: getting the right guys is just as important as getting the perceived "most talented" guys.

Where did that kid go to? Scored first takedown and looking for falls.

Just never know how guys will react mentally once their inside the room. You literally could see waves of confidence roll off of him in HS. Probably biggest disappointment of IA program in last 20 years

I think he would be a close second to his brother jaybird.

Nice find, I had forgotten that. I knew DSJ beat kokesh the year prior.

Big ole whiff in college though.

Moore had a top notch season 2013-2014 and just fell apart at NCAA's, lost to the same guy first round that he had lost to at the 2013 NCAA tournament, Could have been a mental thing. Then unfortunately unable to replicate his success with an injury plagued SR season. One thing that struck me is Ironside and Brands always knew how much talent guys like Dziewa, Moore, Evans, and Telford had, they would say so in their comments. Evans and Telford represented well, Dziewa and Moore had just as much talent, but just didn't get it done when it mattered. FWIW I thought Dziewa was wrestling great at the end of the season last year as he throttled Dardanes twice, but ran into his kryptonite Mayes of Mizzou and that put an end to his AA hopes.
