This is just the 2 deeps BEFORE the start of Spring practices. It will be more interesting to see the list after spring practices. Much like even that list will then be the 2 deeps BEFORE August camp. Another list that is bound to get tweaked before the first game.

So, lots of time and evaluating happening between this list and opening roster of 2-deeps

Probably a good thing for Nixon. Interesting about Harrell. Hope he finds a spot somewhere because he is a good athlete.

Kirk calls ISM a football junkie and loves his energy, does say he could get off his phone in the players lounge.

Not cool.
Wow that sucks. I'm not as concerned with him not playing in 18 as I am that this is an issue at all. Part of the reason he was at Western was to get his academics in order I thought. I couldn't care at all that he played at Juco, just wanted him to be ready to go when he got his chance to rejoin the Hawks. This seems like a major red flag. Hopefully he buckles down and gets his priorities in line.

Unless it is a typo, which I doubt it is, I love the move of Wirfs to left tackle and Jackson to right tackle. Also like Kallenberger on the left and Ferguson on the right. I know this was somewhat the mindset in last years bowl when Wirfs was first moved. He is a hell of an athlete!

Harrell gained 14 lbs since weigh in last year. Harrell's HS background was RB and DB. Set his HS standard of 44 career touchdowns and 22 in his senior year and he also had over 900 yards in receiving. Spells possible playmaker and with Kyshaun's rehab prog and Toks's status, Harrell is a valuable commodity to have in spring practice.

The Nixon academic issue is not so bad. He would have had only backup minutues. Condition and mold him in the Hawkeye way under Bell and Morgan. PT will come to him in 2019.

I agree. Along with the tweet on the main page Kirk said Nixon is still doing well in the classroom. With 2 of our backups at DT being soph. think in long run Nixon taking a red shirt will benefit Iowa in the long run.
