Is there anything wrong with it or is it just too new and it will get more packed down with age? Seems like an awful lot of the black dust on every step. More than I have seen from other fields by far.
If you have ever been on that type of field, that is ground up rubber that is worked into the "grass" fibers. This is what is protecting the players when they hit the ground. Annoying that is sticks to your skin, but I actually like the rooster tail, makes it easier to see toes and knees down on the replay.
It's new this year, and the rubber kicks up more when it's new.I know what it is, but it seems like a lot more of it gets kicked up at Iowa's new field than any other field I have seen.
