After hearing some interesting quotes this week from the member's of Iowa's OL, it seems clear that this underperforming position group is analogous to the Indiana Fever. Hear me out:
  1. Indiana finished last place in 2023. / Iowa's OL was the worst unit in the Power 5 in 2023.
  2. Despite their abysmal performances, Indiana opted to keep their incompetent coach. / Despite the experienced OL's abysmal performance, Iowa opted to keep coach Barnett (and gave him a raise).
  3. Indiana had some talent to work with. They had the overall #1 pick in 2023 and the #2 overall pick in 2022. / Iowa's OL had talent to work with. OL was the highest rated position group on the roster (several 4 star guys with several years of starting experience).
  4. Indiana hit the lottery landing Clark. / Iowa's OL hit the lottery landing Proctor.
  5. Clark arrived as the reigning national player of the year / Proctor arrived as the #1 OL recruit in the country who started at left tackle for a playoff team.
  6. Clark arrived on a team desperately needing a scorer and passer / Proctor arrived on a team desperately needing a left tackle.
  7. Indiana's insecure lineup got jealous, excluded Clark from group activities, and treated her like an outsider / Iowa's insecure OL got jealous, excluded Proctor from group activities, and treated him like an outsider.
  8. Indiana's coach uses Clark as a decoy at crunch time to appease the rest of the team / Barnett treated Proctor as a walk-on to appease the rest of the OL.
  9. The haters claim Clark has a lot to work on and doesn't deserve the hype. / Iowa's doughy OL claimed Proctor "disrupted team chemistry," doesn't deserve the hype, and that "they are better off without him."
  10. Both Clark and Proctor are generational home grown talents where envy created undeserved drama around them.
The similarities are striking and unfortunate. Both Clark and Proctor will go on to have amazing careers and will thrive with the right coach and the right team.

You're gonna get a lot of blowback on this...so I'll get in early and let the pros rip you on 1-9.

10. Not even close. Clark, Yes. Proctor...forget about Tristan Wirfs already? Also, Proctor created all the drama himself.

You need Lexapro.

1. Do you have actual numbers to back this up? Genuinely curious, or if you're talking out of your ass.
2. While Sides is a one person show, Barnett had to work within the scheme of the worst OC in Football. But the OLine definitely improved from the previous year, 2022. Will things change in 2024 under Lester? I don't think Barnett is a good coach, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for now.
3. Indiana hardly had any talent, there was no way that Boston was going to carry the team to success on her own with ball hog Mitchell, air mail Wallace, and the nothing burger that is Wheeler.
4. While Iowa would've benefitted greatly from Proctor, CC is on a completely level, in every way.
5. Again, the two aren't really comparable.
6. I mean, every team is looking for something.
7. Do you have actual proof everyone gave him the cold shoulder? It's completely fair that some of the team were wary of him after what he pulled last time. And it was reported that Proctor was never engaged with the group/team anyway as soon as he got to campus. Which feeds into my theory he never planned on actually staying at Iowa. He transferred to see what would happen at Alabama.
8. Again, do you have actual proof of this? Or are you just referring to the fact the program wasn't treating him like the second coming of Jesus? That's Iowa's culture, players earn the right to play through hard work.
9. People hate Clark because they ain't her, Proctor has proven he has no character or integrity. This was just a nice way of saying he's a selfish piece of shit without outright saying it. CC has class and grace, and has proven that time and time again under massive scrutiny.
10. Again, Clark is on a completely different level than Proctor. There will be another big Left Tackle from Iowa soon enough, there will never be another Caitlin Clark. Saying that the drama around Proctor is undeserved and was from internal jealousy is as ridiculous as it is deluded. He said he was with us, then left at the 11th hour. He then burned us again by saying he was with us 100%, and then left, and not before he got some money from local businesses.

Never compare that worthless shit head to Caitlin Clark ever again, dumbass.

Don't equate Caitlin Clark to Kadyn Proctor.

Clark committed to the UI, came here, and admirably represented the UI for 4 years. And never once made it about herself.
Proctor committed to the UI, bailed out at the last minute leaving Iowa high and dry, went somewhere else, briefly "returned" to the UI, and when everyone didn't fawn all over him, went back to the other school. It was always about him.

IowasLaw is most likely the same poster as stevenpatrick, StateCollegeMan, and other infamous usernames from the past.

His takes are obviously disingenuous and out-of-whack, intended to generate heavy pushback from the board community.

I think he really overstepped with this thread, though. No serious knowledgeable person would equate Clark's situation with Proctor's.

He's had way worse "hot takes" in terms of just saying something stupid for the sake of pissing people off. It's just now more people are wising up to him................finally. 🙃

This one was just sheer laziness on his part, right from the beginning.

You could argue he's trolling by intentionally presenting misinformation as well, but I know his posting style well enough now to know when he's doing that vs just being straight lazy about facts to get his point across.

For example, I don't know how many times people in general have to be corrected about the Fever when it comes to their coach and records.

They got the #1 overall pick last year. Not the #2. But they also weren't the worst team by record or by talent (not that that's saying a lot) last year. They won their league's lottery, similar to the NBA, to get the #1 pick again.

Also, Sides is only in her 2nd year as head coach. She had been a career assistant coach prior to this job. That is why she wasn't fired after last year and why she won't be fired after this season either, unless the team just straight quits on her (which they very well could)........

Always look at the misinformation that @IowasLaw provides in his troll posts to know what level of effort he's putting into his troll threads. This one was by far his laziest effort that I've seen in all the years he's been making these threads.
