I could not possibly be more proud of my Hawkeyes. We showed the world how utterly legit we are, and in a brutally amazing game against our virtual clone, came up a few inches from winning.

I won't bore anyone with details, but I just consoled my saddened wife with a story of how my proudest football game as as player was a HS playoff game we lost (a million years ago)... because of what we overcame and the heart we showed as a team.

Let's go beat Stanford in the Rose (the CFP WILL keep us ahead of OSU now)

I agree. I think the talking heads that doubted Iowa all year (most never even watching Iowa play a game) will actually back off after finally watching. If I had to bet my house on one team in the CFB, I would put it on MSU.

Agree 100% Just wish we would have won. Now Finebaum and Coward can spin it any way they want. But who cares what those two dips say anyway. They don't know crap about college FB

Sparty and the Hawks have had great games in the past and tonight's game is yet another one. Hope you win the whole damn thing. B1G is really gotten better and even with the loss it was one hell of a game.

The talking heads will laud both teams. This game was a carbon copy of LSU/Alabama at their primes a few year ago, and anyone who doesn't recognize that isn't being objective.

This game was an absolute war that both teams will need 4 weeks to recover from. An MSU DE had some great quotes about how nasty this game was in the post-game. So awesome how this game was so physical...and so clean too. No cheap crap. Line it up, punch 'em in the mouth. Line up again, repeat. Love it.

**** Sparty.

Nah, unfortunately, nothing will change with those talking heads.

Finebaum has opted to trump up what Michigan State did, calling MSU's drive the greatest drive in CFB history after earlier this week saying that the Spartans would outclass Iowa at every position. Cowherd won't bac down either. He admits that Iowa is a good team, but because we lost, he will say we're not good enough to compete with the best. He does like Beathard though, so there's that.....

Meanwhile, the turdbags Herbstreit and Robert Smith had those smug, shit-eating grins when the mere mention of the MSU-Iowa game came up. They're as satisfied as can be, now that we're out of the CFP picture.

F*** every last one of those f***s. No, we shouldn't care what they think, but I still don't like seeing them sit there with that smug f***ing look on their faces after we lose.

So f*** those guys.

A lot of empty praise on social media by turds that hated on us all year long...they can shove all of it up each other buttholes.

Not exactly a carbon copy. That Alabama team had 4 kids picked in the first round of the following draft (along with a bunch of others) and LSU was loaded with future NFL players. It was a carbon copy of a low scoring game but that's probably the only similarity.

It was a great game that could have gone either way. You should be proud.

We weren't a legit team in 2009 until we lost to Ohio State. Nothing new.

yeah, they are patting the little stepchild on the head and telling them it's ok, now go route for ou or bama like
THEY want

Totally agree

Last night proved we can hang with anyone. Not the outcome we wanted, but enough to shut all the haters up.

Great comparison. That game was a carbon copy of that LSU @ Alabama game a few years ago. I even think most experts would say the Iowa/MSU battle was played at a higher level.

I thought going into the game we'd have a better perception if we had a close loss to Michigan, OSU or MSU. We finally got the close loss to a good team that we needed to get respect from the national media :(

Strange we lose and now even Finebaum is saying he is impressed. We played great last night, especially on D, but we are the same team we were last week favored by only 1.5 over a subpar Nebraska.

You obviously haven't read the first couple paragraphs of the story:
http://espn.go.com/college-football...-spartans-again-provide-memorable-ending-iowa

INDIANAPOLIS -- You might be excused if you didn't wait around for the drive late Saturday that won the Big Ten Championship Game and a berth in the College Football Playoff for No. 5 Michigan State. Even as we speak, chemists are trying to replicate the first 50 minutes of the game between the Spartans and No. 4 Iowa in pill form -- as an antidote for Red Bull.

Trust me: It wouldn't be habit-forming.

Just when it looked as if the Hawkeyes might find their way into a misshapen 13-0 record...

Did they watch the SEC? One of those teams had a high school QB.

I hope MSU wins the whole thing. I generally root for the BIG 10 in bowl games and I will this year. MSU can beat Alabama. They have the lines to do it.

The national media can suck it. Funny using the word media instead of press. Press would get the storylines right no matter the ratings.

I don't care at all about that game but Im just going to point out that your premise is flawed.

How good a college football game is or isn't is not determined by the nfl draft.

I'd say how talented the players on the field are does help determine how well played a game was. If it didn't matter, a HS game could be as well played as an NFL game.

A great game is a great game based on what happens in the game. Not what happens four months latter.

Iowa wins last night and they wouldn't be getting nearly the amount of respect that these double talking dooshes are giving out today. It would be that Connor Cook had an off game, allowing Iowa to back into a victory or some crap like that.

I agree a great game is a great game. I've seen great HS games. That doesn't mean I'd say a great HS game is a carbon copy of a great NFL game. They aren't. I'm not sure why anybody would feel the need to compare last night's game to the Bama-LSU game a few years ago. They were both low scoring and tightly contested, but that's about the end of the similarities.

Why do people care, what two Nerds, who never played football past PeeWee, touch football say about College Football ?? I'd care more about Miley Cyrus' perspective of College Football than these two goofy clowns.

Rocky! That's what Iowa was last night. Iowa earned respect by getting there brains beat in and doing the same to Msu. Everybody loves a fighter and Iowa truly was the people's champ last night. Hopefully rose bowl ends like Rocky 2!!
