Is Florida Going To Have Some Iowa Weather?

Are the weather apps not current with this cold front? I'm only showing low of 44 this wkd but that map shows me in upper 20's/30's? Are the apps automated and not projecting this cold front? Have noticed that on hurricanes incoming too... They are not even close to projecting correctly.
The weather has moderate from last week's forecast.

Gonna be around 10 to 13 in the am here in WNC. Similar on Friday am with 6-8” of snow projected. Lows in the teens thru next week. It’s winter, tho not Iowa like.

That's pretty much Iowa like weather.
We have had off and on flurries for the last three days or so. Minor accumulations in the shade or on north faces below 3,000 elevations. The 5,000 ft plus peaks are steady white as they should be this time of year.
It is nice to have at least a few weeks of old style winter. We have enjoyed the fireplace lately and tonight I have the wood stove in the basement cranking for supplemental heat.
Our 20 year old gas furnace crapped and we are in the first winter of a new, high efficiency heat pump. So far, so good.

6 inches, and not the good kind of six inches, in Little Rock today through tomorrow. Maybe a little more in Memphis.

70 degrees this morning in Marco with some humidity. The dry air is gone for a couple of days.

I am a bit bummed how far off the forecast is from the specter of lake effect snow coming off the Gulf of America. Would have been fun.
So, the GOA did not produce needed H2O.
Our snowfall at the crib was well below predictions. Rather than 6-8” we got 3” of pretty granular coverage. Surely there is a joke in there somewhere.
Not much melting as we will stay below freezing. 16 is the predicted low tomorrow.
I wish we could send some moisture to the West Coast.

Just got back from Florida. We did beaches from Sarasota to Daytona. Mostly 63 to 75 (one day). The 50s days we went to Magic Kingdom and Epcot. The day at Magic about 8 pm it got a bit raw feeling. We did a hot tub in the evening then and in the morning. In the tub it was just fine...

There's no bad weather, only bad clothing. You can do this Noles! A good pair of wool socks somehow seems to keep your whole body warmer--I recommend Darn Tough.

Layer up, y’all. T shirt, under armor or similar, over shirt, jacket/sweater.
As -Dude-Abides, decent socks.
I typically wear shorts…. Not jhorts.

On the local tv (Fort Myers) news this evening it was stated that this January is on its way to be the coldest January in the last 15 years for Fort Myers.

Yeah, we haven't set any records in Florida, but what's different about this January has been the persistence of cold temperatures. Usually we get a cold front, it's cold for a day or two, and then it warms back up.

The cold fronts this month have just been reinforcing the cold with no in-between warm ups.

Once again, you shouldn't speak for all of the state.
