I lived in Alaska in my 20s...cold didn't bother me. I'm 50 now, and no thanks!"alaskanseminole" - I just don't know what to think here.

And iguanas! There's one that lives on the canal across the street, maybe he'll fall into it and get eaten by the famous crocodile that lives there lol.Now THAT will put a hurting on the invasive snakes!
Are the weather apps not current with this cold front? I'm only showing low of 44 this wkd but that map shows me in upper 20's/30's? Are the apps automated and not projecting this cold front? Have noticed that on hurricanes incoming too... They are not even close to projecting correctly.

That's pretty much Iowa like weather.Gonna be around 10 to 13 in the am here in WNC. Similar on Friday am with 6-8” of snow projected. Lows in the teen thru next week. It’s winter, tho not Iowa like.
We have had off and on flurries for the last three days or so. Minor accumulations in the shade or on north faces below 3,000 elevations. The 5,000 ft plus peaks are steady white as they should be this time of year. That's pretty much Iowa like weather.

It is nice to have at least a few weeks of old style winter. We have enjoyed the fireplace lately and tonight I have the wood stove in the basement cranking for supplemental heat.
Our 20 year old gas furnace crapped and we are in the first winter of a new, high efficiency heat pump. So far, so good.
That’s about 2 inches less than I give your mom.6 inches, and not the good kind of six inches, in Little Rock today through tomorrow. Maybe a little more in Memphis.
That's total over several times, right? That’s about 2 inches less than I give your mom.
Mountains of Western NC.Where do you live?
That is cold. Damp North Florida cold.24° with a wind chill of 20° this morning. This should be the last really cold, for NW Florida, morning for a while.
I am a bit bummed how far off the forecast is from the specter of lake effect snow coming off the Gulf of America. Would have been fun.The forecasted storm that was to bring us snow today will roll through but as a cold rain instead. Central Alabama is getting snow but it didn't sink low enough to get it to us.
So, the GOA did not produce needed H2O.I am a bit bummed how far off the forecast is from the specter of lake effect snow coming off the Gulf of America. Would have been fun.
Let’s do this. Should be a perfect time now that I’m getting over this cold/flu.
Layer up, y’all. T shirt, under armor or similar, over shirt, jacket/sweater.There's no bad weather, only bad clothing. You can do this Noles! A good pair of wool socks somehow seems to keep your whole body warmer--I recommend Darn Tough.
My son in Alpharetta had 3" last Friday. Made a snowman.Raleigh went more than 1,000 days with no snowfall and they might see it twice this month! Wow!
On the local tv (Fort Myers) news this evening it was stated that this January is on its way to be the coldest January in the last 15 years for Fort Myers.
Once again, you shouldn't speak for all of the state.Yeah, we haven't set any records in Florida, but what's different about this January has been the persistence of cold temperatures. Usually we get a cold front, it's cold for a day or two, and then it warms back up.
The cold fronts this month have just been reinforcing the cold with no in-between warm ups.
Once again, you shouldn't speak for all of the state.
Most wish that wasn't.There's more to the state than Tradition Manor?
Pfffffft.
