Is Indiana win vs Wyoming predictive of a good B1G showing in NCAA tourney

Wyoming wasn't a pos team....good size and a star. I thought Indiana looked fantastic except they might be one of the worst shooting teams in the tournament based on how they shot vs Wyoming. TJD is really an All-American talent and the real deal. I assume Xavier Johnson will return to form and one of their other shooters will make a showing. There is history of teams coming out of First Four and going on runs....Indiana fits the profile of a hot team....but they better shoot the B-ball better. Defense and TJD is not enough.

I think Indiana doing well/being competitive or beating St Mary's would bode well for a better B1G performance than the Turd last year.

If memory serves, St Mary’s likes to slow the game down, so points will be at a premium there.

I was wondering about why Phinisee didn't play - apparently he has plantar fasciitis that hasn't healed. He's a big part of IN's outside scoring.

Indiana didn't exactly light it up.
But Wyoming being overrated is the correct answer. They did not look like a tourney team to me.

I'm not sure that we looked like a tourney team against Indiana either....they are athletic and are pretty disruptive defensively....Fortunately that didn't bother Keegan.

St Mary's wins with guard play. I think Indiana's back court will be able to hang with them, and I think that gives Indiana at least a 50/50 chance to win. I don't think it indicates anything about the Big Ten though.

Iowa and Purdue are the B1G’s ponies to bet on. That said, I think three make it to the second weekend. Hawks, Boilers, and either Illinois or Wisconsin.
Wisky should sleep-walk to the Sweet 16.

The combination of opponents and locations that they drew couldn't have been scripted better for them. I don't know much about Colgate or USC, but IMO Wisky got the weakest #6, #11 and #2 seeds in the Tourney in their half of the bracket.

I think Illinois should also get to the Sweet 16 if they show up to play.

Probably a good thing, Indiana looked a little sluggish. Will it be a bad thing for the B1G when Rutgers gets the crap beat out of it tonight against Notre Dame?

Wisky basically gets a couple of home games. They should be able to get past a Colgate and (presumably) LSU, but they are totally capable of laying an egg. They lost at home to Nebraska on Senior Night, plus Mr. Everything Johnny Davis may not be 100%.

I’m less optimistic about Illinois. I don’t think they get by Houston but we’ll see.

The MTN West generally is. Those teams played hardly anyone of note in non conf and just beat up on each other.

Indiana is just plain lucky they are even in this! We gave them false hope in the semi-finals and we just let them hang around until we finally dispatched them with that last Jordan Bohannon dagger which was ALL skill and all of us NEVER questioned it was going in! I'd say if we would have played them in Bloomington this year we would have taken that one too.

If Indiana had played like that on Saturday it would have been a Hawkeye 12-20 point victory especially since Geronimo didn't play in that game. The Hoosiers might not have won last night without Geronimo's solid play!

Not much to make of it at all. Two number 12 seeds in a not very well played game. I think the Mountain West got way over represented this year. IU could certainly beat St Marys, certainly no juggernaut but IU is just a pretty mediocre team.

Indiana looked sluggish and Rutgers looked mediocre. Not the start for the B1G I was hoping for.
