I have seen some posters on here within threads basically ask "What makes you think Iowa has the ability to be consistantly better than average? Why should we expect more from Iowa football?"
It's a few things for me. First, Wisconsin. They are right nextdoor and share the same recruiting territory as us, yet have been whipping our ass.
Secondly, we are surrounded by states with decent to good highschool football but mediocre to bad college programs. Illinois, Missouri, Minnesota, Kansas, etc. There is a power vaccum up for grabs in the midwest and upper midwest. It's just frustrating that Iowa is not taking advantage with a large loyal fanbase, a 75,000+ stadium, and plenty of $$$.
