Is Nick Bosa a bad person?

Does wearing a MAGA hat and voting for Trump make Nick Bosa a bad person?

He wasn’t blackballed from the NFL. He had opportunities to sign with other teams but he wasn’t willing to take a pay cut or demotion.

Recently in another thread we had several posters proclaim that casting a vote for Trump automatically makes someone a bad person. Bosa proudly wore his MAGA hat last night post-game. It's obvious he is voting for Trump. He's always seemed like a good dude. Looks to be involved with some very good charities and foundations. But...is he a bad person now that we know his election intentions?
He has 170 million reasons due to signing his last contract to be a Trump/Republican supporter. We all like to say we would do the right thing in his shoes, keep politics out of sports by not wearing the hat and not support a vile human for President but that's a chunk of change that most of us have no idea. I know we are all millionaires on this site but not multi millionaires many times over like Bosa. It also doesn't help that he's a Buckeye. If Kittle would have done something like that I'm sure many on here would cut him a little slack.

It absolutely is true and it’s a documented fact. Baltimore was prepared to sign him at the beginning of the 2017 season. The Ravens needed QB depth while Joe Flacco recovered from offseason surgery and Ray Lewis convinced Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti to sign Kaepernick. That is, until CK’s girlfriend tweeted this photo, implying that Bisciotti is a brutal slave owner and Lewis is his loyal house Negro.

Terrible person? Nah.

Low i.q. dipshit with anti-social behavior disorder tendencies? Absolutely.

I do like how he's allowed to wear his MAGA hat on tv during postgame interviews, but if Kaep kneels during the anthem to bring awareness to social injustice, then hoooooooly shit "keep your politics outta my football!"
It’s quicker/easier/less dramatic to simply put a hat on than kneeling during the nat’l anthem, in my opinion.

Considering all the team hats they have available on side lines, it kinda feels like there’s bit more effort to what Bosa did here vs kneeling. That required him bringing that hat on purpose out of the locker room.

In the grand scheme of things, I think both were relatively silly to dwell on however.

I have no idea if he is a good or bad person. I will say he has spent time in the concussion protocol.

I hope his brain functions better than it would seem it does.
The only “bad” thing about Bosa is that he went to Ohio State. 😉

I concur with your last sentence; it’s a silly thing to dwell on.

The question is, how much did he get paid for that stunt? No way he did it on his own. He got the hat and an envelope of cash and a note saying there would be another envelope after he wears the hat on TV.

So now we're ok with people paying for things their SO's did? Or is it everyone except the SOs of Supreme Court Justices?

Wrong. Harbaugh and the GM at the time supported bringing in Kaepernick. Bisciotti was hesitant because he was worried about supporter backlash. IIRC he wanted people to "pray for us" when they were deciding on whether to sign Kaepernick even though he had no issues bringing back Ray Rice a few years prior.

Lewis decided to make a video defending Bisciotti and suggesting if Kaepernick didn't protest it wouldn't be a controversy if he got signed.

The gf's tweet was just an excuse after the fact.

There's a reason why the richest league in America who has an army of the best lawyers money can buy decided to settle with Kaepernick.

They settled because when someone is determined to tarnish your reputation, sonetimes the least damaging course of action is to buy them off.

The NFL also settled with CK’s former teammate Eric Reid. The settlement was reached on February 15, 2019 - four days after Carolina had re-signed Reid to a 3-year, $22 million contract extension after he had spent most of the 2018 season playing for them.

How the hell can you claim to be blackballed when you’re getting paid tens of millions of dollars to play?

It’s worth noting that Kaepernick’s days in SF were numbered long before he started kneeling during the Anthem. The Niners gave him a 6-year, $126 million contract in the summer of 2014, but then he never even came close to living up to the expectations of that contract.

He played reasonably well in 2014, but the team finished 8-8 and missed the playoffs. Jim Harbaugh repeatedly clashed with management and left at the end of the season to go back to Michigan.

SF promoted defensive line coach Jim Tomsula to head coach and then the wheels fell off. SF started the 2015 season 2-6 and Kaepernick got benched in favor of Blaine Gabbert. This was before he started his protests.

The Niners finished the 2015 season 5-11 and fired Tomsula. CK had multiple surgeries to repair injuries to his thumb and a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder. SF hired Chip Kelly in February 2016. Shortly after that, CK requested permission to seek a trade, which the Niners granted. At this point he still had not started his protests, but he was generally considered to be damaged goods. Denver offered the Niners a third-round draft pick and CK a two-year, $14 million contract. The Niners wanted a second-round pick and CK refused to take that much of a pay cut, so CK grudgingly stayed in SF.

Again, all of these things happened before he ever started his protests.

Not saying Bosa is a bad guy...but his great grandpa....I'll let you decide...bada bing bada boom...
