Lose to MSU and still get in to the final 4. Troubling that every team but us gets an excuse for a loss but we wouldn't.

I don't really see that happening... mainly because they're still wanting to put tOSU up there badly.
Even IF the entire nation imploded (Clemson losing to UNC, Alabama losing to Florida... Stanford losing to USC...etc)... I think they'd put tOSU in the Final 4 ahead of us. Although we are all ranked right next to each other.... they cant and wont put 3 B1G teams in so we'd drop down to the Rose while tOSU and MSU went onto the Playoff.
Would be HILARIOUS if they got all 3 of us in but I dont see that happening, we're not the SEC.

Life isn't fair sometimes. If Iowa loses, it's not getting in the playoffs. And one could make an argument that a 1-loss Iowa team should not be in there. The Hawks have had a historic season already. With a reasonable chance to do even more.
It's too late in the season for any team to take a loss and still make the playoffs. If Florida beats Alabama they're out too.
The committee doesn't hate Iowa. They respect what Iowa has accomplished and the coaches in the room, I assume, have a healthy respect for the way that Iowa plays.
Before 3 B1G teams make the CFP, 1 loss UNC (ACC Champ) would get a shot.
If everyone gets upset I think it shakes out like this:
1 Mich State 12-1
2 Oklahoma 11-2
3 UNC 12-1
4 Ohio State 11-1
5 Clemson 12-1
6 Iowa 12-1
7 Bama 11-2
8 FSU 10-2
Either way they don't want an all B1G Championship so they will play in one semifinal. 4 loss Pac12 Champ and 2 loss SEC Champ Florida get left out.
*Edit: The only way Iowa stands a chance with a loss is if the B1G Championship game is an epic battle for the ages. Maybe multiple overtimes and both teams making great plays. Even then I still don't think they keep Iowa in.
First off, if we lose, we are out. Second, that should not be troubling. If we had lost a regular season game like everyone else (except Clemson) and won this game, we still would most likely be in. The reality is Conference Championships matter the most and if we loss this game, we won't have one. I don't think it is unfair at all.
