Is this the dumbest Iowa team ever?

Sorry about you being so butthurt about a post. The answers to your questions, in order are, Just about, no, there is a good chance of that, no, this is the dumbest question ever, and have YOU read every post that has ever been made?
I'm not butthurt at all. Just trying to make a point how ridiculous an asshat your being for saying these guys are dumb because they made a mistake during competition. And why is it the dumbest question ever asking if you'd like to be watched all day at your job by a bunch of strangers you'd never met, so they could ridicule every mistake you make on an open internet forum? Try walking a mile in their shoes there Mr. Perfect.

Absolutely. There's no excuse for an 18 year old making a mistake. You guys ever watch NFL Bloopers? Think they were all trying to do those screw ups? Think Marshall for Minnesota wanted to run 70 yards the wrong way for a TD?
Over and over and over again? A single screw up is to be expected now and then. Repeatedly doing it - no.

And how many outstanding plays has ISM made? We don't win the ISU game without him. Period. Had some nice plays, including the next kickoff he ran back against Nebraska. Would you rather they didn't give him that chance? Do we have better options? How about we let the kid grow up and mature a little, and see what kind of play maker he turns into, before we start calling him a dumbass.....

you're one of those who blast the coaches for "never playing the young guys".

then, if the young guys make mistakes, you're bitching they do it "over and over and over again".

I didn't call him a dumbass. I didn't say he won't improve. I could careless about his return against white flag waving Nebby. Had he not played against ISU, maybe we win by a bigger margin. Your "what if" scenarios are total foolishness. He wasn't ready this year.

Nope. Not me. Case in point, I wish KF would not have burned Stanley's redshirt last year for just one pass - dumb.

So his full lay out dive in the endzone for a TD against ISU, and the sliding catch at the goal line for the game winner in OT, were just average plays. Now who's talking foolishness? So you rag on the kid for not being ready, yet discount 3 outstanding plays for TD's because he's missed on some plays? So how exactly is he going to get better by not being out there and learning from experience? He'll be a much better player next season, because of his reps this year, and to say he didn't contribute is ridiculous. His speed alone opens up the field for other opportunities, just as Fant's does.

Montgomery of the Packers did it in the last couple years ...it is ruled a kick out of bounds...

If that's the rule in college then it would be good to run the direction of the kick that will barely stay in bounds and then catch it mid air as you're jumping the direction of out of bounds. Land out of bounds and the ball will be placed on the 35 every time.

Do you always respond before your brain starts functioning? You and I have no clue how the dynamics of the ISU game would have worked out without him. He could have used one year of more preparation first before thrown into the hot kitchen. I think he will become an excellent player. He wasn't there this year....too early.

Is the rule the same in the NCAA as NFL- If so ISM could have stepped out of bounds and caught the ball and ball would be at the 40

Someone might have pointed this out, but I think it might have had more to do with having so many first-year players starting or getting significant PT compared to most years under Ferentz. His recruiting from 2013-2015 was atrocious so the youth on the team got more playing time than they otherwise might have. Add in upperclassmen like Bower and Taylor, and even MVB and J. Daniels (was he playing hurt this year?) screwing up and, yeah, not a disciplined team.

How Bower held off other younger LBs is still a head scratcher. Same with Gervase--how was Stone or Hooker not starting ahead of him all year? With Stone, I understand because he was a first year guy, but he was clearly better than every other safety except for Hooker (who was hurt) by the end of the year. If Stone had played against Purdue instead of Gervse or Taylor, maybe that game turns into a win. I have no idea what the hell the coaches are thinking half the time when it comes to personnel decisions.

Do you always respond to people like your somehow superior? Why do people respond like their view is the only one that matters, and everyone else is crazy? The kid made significant contributions this year. You don't have to agree, nor do I care.:)

When you make claims concerning what my thoughts are (which are wrong and unfounded), I question your mental abilities. Nowhere did I EVER say the diving touchdown catch against ISU was "an average play". You communicate like a dunce, you get treated like a dunce.

What the flick did Gervase or Bower have to do with the Purdue loss? Bower had a great day in holding Purdue to 65 yds. rushing and in coverage, and if you had a clue you'd know he got beat on the TD because as the announcer and knowledgeable people know, Nelson blew contain and allowed the QB to run around and no LB can cover someone for 7 seconds. But you also miss the point that they should have never had the ball. Are you blaming Gervase for Rugamba getting beat time after time and Hankins getting beat on on a TD? What are you talking about? I love you guys that think if a white guy starts we must suck because the black guy is obviously better, LOL. We lost the Purdue game because of the punt block fiascle, horrible field position and Rugamba struggling that day. Bower and Gervase played great. You're one of the Bower haters who have no clue what you're talking about. Stone and Gervase don't even play the same position putz. You would have no idea what any coach is thinking any time about anything because you are clueless. Don't throw kids under the bus when you are completely ignorant about what is going on. You make some good points at times and then you make just totally asinine comments like this. The coaches put the most consistent players on the field that make the least mistakes, plain and simple. Gervase was our best safety over the last six games as said by PP. He had some struggles early in the year and if a white guy screws up, get the black guy in there right? That's the way it sounds coming from some of you folks. Bower had a great career and year and carried the D when Jewell was out for a game. Move on from this tired parroting. You don't tick me off like some of these guys, but this post was beyond the pale.

No safety on the Iowa roster would have stopped those Purdue scores early in the 3rd quarter. Actually, no safety on any roster would have stopped those plays, given the coverage we were in. I generally don't question Phil Parker's knowledge in stopping the pass, but we needed to do something to help out the corner and it didnt happen.

And how would you like to be treated for communicating like an egotistical ass? Never mind, I'm not really interested in your thoughts. Have a nice day....

Gervase got burned on the deep throw just as much as Jackson did. As to the rest of your post I didn't read it because all I could see was anger. You disagree, that's that for that subject.

Glorious play in Viking history!

Iowa special teams' play this season was as bad as I have seen in a few decades. We haven't even discussed the punt return debacles this year or rushing the punter with roughing penalties.
Amazing that Iowa got to 7-5 with some of the stupid shit we had to watch.
