ISU band

Don't think it's terribly unique to have the opponents band in not a great spot. Minnesota put Iowa's band a couple years ago Upper Deck corner.

I’m curious to hear the perspective of fans that had to sit right in front of them the whole game...

PS: expect the UW band being up there in two weeks

Sat in the section over from them in north end zone. I saw them sitting there before the game and thought ‘great, this won’t be annoying’.

Once the game started, I hardly noticed them or could I barely hear them. The only times I really noticed their band was them running up 75 rows of steps and them trying to drown out the IOWA chant at the end. They did get a little rowdy when their band director was announced leading the Iowa band in the national anthem.

You’re right. Shoulda been on top of the water tower

Indeed. Or locked them out.

I’ll never understand why visitors bands are at the games anyway. Unless bowl or neutral site, just the home band.

Disagree. I love when opposing bands come to town. Adds a fun dimension to the game and gets people riled up. I do think putting the opposing teams band directly behind the visiting team bench is a fantastic idea though.

FWIW, I caught some of the Cyclone call in show last night. Pollard was ranting about where the band was seated and vowed to show the U of I how an opposing band should be treated when they come to Ames. He is such a petty doucher it’s actually kind of awesome.
Who actually says something like that? I get him being immature enough to believe something like that, but what person in his position says something like that? How embarrassing.

I wish I could remember verbatim what he said, but spare me teaching Iowa lessons about class when you just allowed fake 1 game suspensions for your football team. He’s like the WWE of athletic directors.

Yeah we will see where the UNI band is seated as I would guess they will be invited to play as they were the last time they were at Kinnick. We sit on west side and they seemed louder to us because they were facing us and above us.

ISU either has a bye week right before Iowa next year, which would not shock me if they did or they have yet to drop in a Big 12 foe right before they play us. I can't tell from their website, but looks like they play UNI and then have a bye week and then play Iowa.

Nice, they already have their excuse for next year when they lose five straight. Well if we didn’t have a BYE week before we played Iowa blah blah blah

I propose the UNI band get good seats, just to piss Jamie off even more.

ISU fans wonder why people say it's their Superbowl or little brother. Just look at your AD.
