ISU band

I'll give ISU's band credit for something that took place in Kinnick many Iowa/ISU games ago.

After a good play by Iowa's defense, Iowa's band broke into its traditional "Imperial March" Darth Vader theme from Star Wars. The ISU band responded by playing the Rebel ("Good Guy") theme from Star Wars.

Clever and nicely planned.

Disagree. I love when opposing bands come to town. Adds a fun dimension to the game and gets people riled up. I do think putting the opposing teams band directly behind the visiting team bench is a fantastic idea though.
It would be different if there were plenty of seats available. Season ticket holders shouldn’t be forced into crappy seats for your opponent, though.

This also goes for opposing team’s ticket allotments too.

For years, opposing teams at Kinnick would get section 109 & 110, usually starting at row 1. They may still do, I’m not sure. Those aren’t great seats, but there are a lot worse seats in Kinnick.

Just about every Iowa section for away games is like the last 20 or so rows in the corner of an end zone.

There aren't many places in the stadium where there are 200 contiguous unsold seats. There are season ticket holders everywhere, and you're not going to displace them for the visiting band.

I'm fine with opposing bands being in bad seats. I'm fine with the Hawkeye Marching Band given bad seats on the road.

I'm still perplexed regarding why visiting schools even think bringing their bands to non-neutral sites is warranted. Same goes for Iowa. If the game is at ISU, then ISU is the home team and it should be their band and only their band. Why is this even a thing? It is a terrible customer experience for the home team fans to be anywhere near the other team's band. It is ridiculously obnoxious. The only time this should happen is if an invitation goes out from the home team stating "hey, we think it would be cool if you brought your band."

Eliminate the root cause (i.e. bringing your band to non-home games) and no one complains.
