We go through this every 4 or 5 years. ISU coach underachieves after high hopes and gets fired. New, gung ho coach gets hired and ISU is already making up ground and Clone fans pack the stadium. One way or another, 4 or 5 years from now Campbell will be done at ISU. Either he will tank like most of them have, or he will start to turn things around, have an 8 win season and move on to greener pastures.

He will NEVER win 8 games in Ames. Never. The only way the ISU program sees 8 wins again is if it moves to the MAC.

And yes, if he does have some success he will move on. Same with Steve P

I mean 8 wins is possible, especially in big 12....I'm not saying it is a bad conference but its just possible with the lack of D played in general

But with each coach, they build their attendance numbers. That's a big deal for them. Or anyone for that matter.

I'm only on here for info on Jackson and ran across this thread. Other than that I don't care about your shatty school. My question is why do you care? Shouldn't you be congratulating yourself on your weak sched.... I mean great season.

I fan from a 3-9 team thinks they can run their mouth.. Iowa state is a sad football program has been and always will be.

Congrats on your three wins. I LOVE how your AD is driving your athletic program into the ground. Signed, Paul Rhoades & Fred Hoiberg

Speaking of weak schedules, has your basketball team beat anyone tough outside of Hilton?

isu grads love to talk schedule but if the Texas Ten was as awesome as they claim they wouldn't suck as they do when the post season rolls around. Same thing for MBB. isu grad will go on and on and on and on and on about how great the Texas ten is and then they piss it down their legs when the tourney starts.

Just ask UAB.

Pollard is awesome to work for and God's gift for AD's.

I swear every time new coach comes in the isu sports writers use the same article but just change the name of the coach with all the same analogies such as bringing excitement to the program, great staff, good recruiter etc.

Isn't that why they hired the coach from Toledo? When the Texas Ten folds, isu can join the MAC and have the largest stadium.

And with 40k fans ISU will lead the MAC the first couple of years. Conference realignment isn't done yet. Clone fans will get tired of the schedule with Northern Illinois,Central Michigan, etc., attendance will drop to 30k and 20k. The Iowa and UNI games will still sell out of course.

ISU basketball will do well wherever they go. Their football future, which pays the bills, is entirely dependent on what Texas and Oklahoma do.
