How many years did the following top 50 recruits start at Iowa: Nate Skonieczny, Broc Berge, Jake Marlin, Jake Ballweg, and Nate Moore?
My point is that both Iowa and Iowa State has had recruits that have not worked out. Iowa State has a smaller margin of error because they have fewer blue chip kids. They also have needed to bring in more high risk/high reward type kids if they hoped to compete. Just as Penn State has been out recruiting Iowa the past 6 years, Iowa has been out recruiting ISU for decades. Iowa State has been performing below expectations lately, but Iowa also has been trending in the wrong direction.

For what it's worth, I work with a guy who wrestled 5 years for IA State under KJ. I asked him why KJ's recruits always seem to end up at grandview.
He said the biggest reason is because many of these recruites can't hack it in the classroom. Said many of them are wannabe gangsters that don't realize there's more to college than partying and wrestling. Also said that yes, KJ can burn some kids out, and sometimes recruites are promised one thing by one coach, only to be told another by another coach. But he said far and away the biggest reason for so many transfers is that these kids just can't hack it in D1 academics.
Straight from someone who has seen it first hand. Take it for what it's worth. Also said Tom and Terry are way cool people.
Skonieczny missed weight 2 weeks ago for J.C.C in a dual meet.
Head case? He's still damn good by the way. I watched him at nationals last year and he would been ow if he didn't get stuck when he was way ahead. How is he still wrestling jc? He was sorensons class correct?

I'm gonna go with the one that has been in and out of prison. What do I win?I may be forgetting some wrestlers, but I think the same number of Cael's recruits (Eric Thompson and Andrew Long) ended up at Grand View as KJ's recruits (Ryak Finch and Bubba Hernandez). Not sure which of the four are wannabe gangsters.
