ISU's next coach

TJ Otzelberger[1] was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Thomas L. and Jackie A. Otzelberger. He attended Thomas More High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he was a three-year starter on the varsity basketball team.[2] He played college basketball at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and was team captain for two years.[2] On June 1, 2013, he married Alison Lacey,[1][3] former ISU Women's Basketball standout, former WNBA player,[4] and former coach[5] of the Marshalltown Community College Women's Basketball Team.
I hope they hire him! Sounds like a real bad ass!

Wasn't Wisconsin-Whitewater where Bo Ryan coached before getting the Wisconsin job? Was TJ his assistant?

Four things.

  1. Who is this TJ?
  2. Words can barely express how happy I am to have needed to ask that question. It is a Hawkeye website after all, despite LC and his minions, and not knowing anything about TJ on the day Hoiberg quasi-officially leaves shows a complete lack of caring for or interest in ISU.
  3. Sounds like TJ is an assistant, will no doubt recognize him from Carver and tv. Players fairly certain to be on board with a move like that, sigh, Clones look to be awesome next year.
  4. Homage. Rooted against Hoiberg for what seemed like 10 years when he was in high school and college, and now for what seems like 10 years as ISU coach. In all that time he's really never been anything but all stud in all ways. Rooting against him all that time and not seeing something to dislike is pretty remarkable Delighted he is going to the Bulls.
Ummmm.....duh!
