I'm not and hope to hell hawks can overcome this loss. For me I'm just looking at schedule and see a tougher 2nd half. So any chance to separate ourselves from the pack now leaves more room for error. Michigan looks to have an easier schedule but obviously they could loss again too

Lot of tough road games ahead. Losing at home to a turd team, that is not good for B1G title. I know some people don't care and are just happy to get to sweet16, but I've been waiting 40 years for a chance. They still have a chance, but they need healthy Fredrick or live or die by how JBO is shooting.

I’d say we’re a good team. Not great. Too many chinks in the armor, IMO. I see us 3-4 in the Big Ten and maybe Sweet 16. Will hope for more, of course, but won’t be expecting it. Will be rooting for conference and national titles; just don’t expect either in the least.

Yes, but expectations and Iowa sports have never been a good combination.

The bottom line is while this team is talented they still have plenty of limitations. Fans need to accept that and take the season in stride. They're will still be plenty more highs, but Iowa could easily lose 6-8 conference games this season and fans shouldn't lose their minds about it. JBo doing a podcast is not why he shot poorly. In basketball, it's much harder to be consistent in every game compared to football.

Fans need to chill. I think pretty much every poster has seen enough Iowa basketball to not be taken off guard by this. And yet, here we are. More vintage meltdowns. Iowa fans are getting as bad as Iowa State fans.

Agree. Garza covers up a ton of warts, think next year we are still decent but there will be a huge drop off. Fran's defenses are never good enough, giving up 50 second half to that team is inexcusable

How does our margin of error go to 0? This was an awful loss, but the conference is ridiculously tough. One bad loss doesn’t change much. Makes it harder, but the league will beat up on each other til the end.

We had a clunker, against a bad Team makes it that much worse. Honestly you can still play poorly and beat Indiana, and we couldn't manage that. Up 10 midway thru the first half then a clown show the rest of the way. Fran got too cute in the first half when we could have buried them IMO. He Coached poorly and we executed even worse no matter who was in there.

JBo was non-existent, Weiskamp disappeared after a hot start and some mismatches we didn't take advantage of, Garza was off even though he scored whatever he ended up with.

Indiana played some good defense, and they suck offensively in every game I've seen them play and they still scored 81 with horseshit free throw shooting.

You can't lose to shit teams like Indiana at Home. The end.

Just my opinion. I was looking at hawks schedule compared to other top tens. It just seems like hawks have a smaller margin than other teams. Really tough to win out which I don't know if its likely. Defintely agree it makes it harder. But just my opinion and happy to hear others thoughts

I agree that I should have said "80% down the drain"...not just make a blanket statement. But its just my opinion based on tough schedule going forward compared to other teams. It just seems like everything has to go "right"....hawks win out plus relying on other teams losing. To your point...totally possible just makes it very hard IMO.

Illinois didn’t blow out Indiana. It was a close game for most of it. Our only blowout was to Texas and Texas played like the Lakers in that game.

Iowa had a 7pt lead into 2nd half. It was a winnable game.

I seen Indiana shot 49% overall and 47% from 3pt line. That is not good defense. This is the type of game that teams with good offenses but chitty defenses lose instead of grinding out a win. In retrospect, Fran would have been better off going with a defensive lineup in that long drought that decided the game. PMAC going 0/4 and JoeW going into shell in 2nd half didn't help.
