It is Sunday Feb 16th

How pointless was the BF firing mid season? Why put the team through the same thing? She is going to at the end of the year and we all know it.

What harm came out of Brian getting fired? Provided a lot of positive clarity---who on offense would want to play for Brian Ferentz offense.

There is no harm in firing Fran right now but not a lot of urgency either. The season is a lost cause.

Really it’s the getting out-scored by 30 in a half. It’s happened a few times this season. Routinely you’ll see power 5 teams get out-scored by 20 in a half. But 30? GTFO, Fran.

You wait until the season is over or, forbid, his contract is final next year to cut ties BECAUSE you want to explore all options and to see who is available after the season is over. Yes, you can play the dance with DeVries and others, but you have to keep all options open in case something else opens up. Also- does Iowa have enough $ to pay for Frans release?

Just a question to all- so if you want DeVries we are going to pay big money to get him here with a long contract (otherwise he won't sign). Is that what you want? Because that is what happened with Frans contract, extended years ago and now most are regretful, can't have it both ways.

Not me.
Oh, I'm fine if it ends up being DeVries. But not for a contract that's longer than 5 years.
My preference is to find a lesser known at a smaller school who brings 3-4 players with him. 4 year deal at a smaller upfront with bigger performance incentives tied to NCAA tourney wins. If he's wildly successful then pay him or let him move on and have the program in a better spot for the next guy. If the trend is downward after year 3 then adios.

I agree on the 5-year length of the contract. Provide quality/winning results and the contract will take care of itself. JMO

No more Barta specials when it comes to contracts.
Shorter terms, performance incentives that are meaningful. In men's bball that starts and ends with NCAA performance. Making the field is the bare minimum/lowest tier for any incentive.
