Listening to the Iowa HuddleCast with Drew Tate, Anton Narinskiy, with Stanzi as a guest, there was a question about the QB's relationship with KOK.

Drew said after his first TD pass as a true freshman to Matt Malloy, coming off the field, he was fired up for his first TD in Kinnick, KOK said to Drew, " The 1st thing that man said to me was, 'You had the flat open.' "

Drew said his relationship w KOK changed forever from that. Drew didn't sound like a big fan

He's talked about things KOK said to him before, it's usually pretty funny, and along the lines of the story the OP started with. It's a fun podcast to listen do. Last week we learned that Dace Richardson re-injured a knee after surgery while chasing down Matt Roth, who stole his cheeseburger... They joked that Dace ended his career over a cheeseburger.

It really is a great podcast. I listen routinely, for the stories and shit talking. But, fair warning, it's *usually* not heavy on analysis. The bit that slips in can be pretty good, but it's mostly just ****ing around.

Yeah, that's really all its good for, interesting inside access. Tate is basically worthless most of the time

I like it. If you want analysis go to the oniowa podcast. This is for fun and inside stories about their time at iowa. Tate speaks up when it's just him and anton, otherwise he just lets the guests talk. I don't think he gets much time to watch the games as he still is a pro QB.

Loved the Stanzi interview. I could have lived an entire lifetime without the images of Matt Roth in the bathroom.

I don't understand why people are so obsessed with "analysis." Honestly, what exactly is analysis. Just a bunch of people pontificating about a result they can't possibly predict. I can do that with a conversation with a friend, I'm just as qualified as anyone to do that. After you've heard one talking head you've heard them all. I, personally, just love hearing people talk and tell stories over, "blah blah blah this team is going to win, blah blah blah, I'm outraged, blah blah blah"

The thing that surprises me the most about Huddle Pass is how little the players know about their own program. I don't mean that as a negative but it's amazing how much they have filtered out. Hell, today they couldn't even remember a teammates name. Sort of puts it into perspective for those of us who are spending way too much time on message boards leading up to this week.

Well, seeing as they are reporters, they know a lot about the team and the previous game/upcoming opponent. Way more than the average fan would know, they also have insight from interviewing the players and coaches not only this year but in years past. On Iowa is by far my favorite podcast, not only for that reason but because the 2 hosts are just solid journalists who do their job, not interested in promoting themselves

^ Morehouse gets a little too "Chester the Molester" with his questions though. Some are downright creepy. Listen to their Tuesday podcasts with player interviews.

I enjoy all the podcast I listen to about the hawks. I do enjoy listening to the huddle cast guys because they are just real and share some great stories. It's fun to see how much they really are college kids playing a game they love. Puts watching them into perspective.

Was "entry points" the term he was throwing around this week? Usually I'm a big fan, but the players (and listeners) were a little confused.

Agreed. He tells some interesting stories sometimes, but mostly he just sits back and laughs with little comments here and there. Anton is pretty good. You can tell that he's new at this, but he's pretty entertaining and provides 80% of the show content.

He always confuses them with "entry points." This time he was asking the fullbacks all kinds of questions about their relationship. At one point, I was almost certain he was going to ask if they'd gone out on dates (I'm cleaning it up). I get that he was trying to write an interesting article on the relationship between players. Maybe he prefaced his questions to the players so they knew what he was getting at? Who knows but it was downright uncomfortable.

Last week he was asking ridiculous questions ("why do you wear slippers?" and "who has a better beard?") and some female reporter followed up with a really great question about football.
