I'm in schools everyday hoping we move beyond thoughts and prayers so we don't have to put kids and staff through active shooter drills...like other countries who put firearms before human life.

That’s not likely to change in my lifetime or probably ever. If the 2nd amendment was repealed tomorrow how many armed police officers/military personnel would it take to seize those weapons? How many officers/military personnel would lose their lives trying to enforce the new rule of law? It’s just simply not realistic or practical to wish away all the guns.
The sad truth is we have a mental health crisis in this country. The overwhelming majority of mass shooters are mentally ill. There have been some measures that have been implemented to help curb the access the mentally ill have to firearms, and further steps should be taken in this direction.
If we could keep firearms out of the hands of the mentally ill, I believe we would drastically reduce the number of mass shootings.
IMHO it’s a more tangible solution than no more guns pipe dream.

I am pro-choice. But I’m not a fan of abortion as birth control. It’s not a healthy option for a woman to have multiple procedures of that nature. But if that’s her choice then it’s her body.

At some point a fetus does become a pre-born human - like my great nephew was a two months early preemie who is now almost two years old and a normal precious kid.

I think that from what we learn in the tragic aftermath about these shooters is that there were lots of people around them who thought there was something off with them.
But the truth is we often don’t know what to say about it or who to share that with.
