It's a Cult. Nebraska football media...

I think Nebber would have a clear claim to being the best 4-loss team in the country if not for Tulsa and Bowling Green…
Was it Bowling Green that beat Minn?

If so, we’ll find out if Nebber is better than BG after this weekend’s score against Minn.

There’s something I thought I’d never type, “Nebber’s better than Bowling Green.”

What a great downfall of a once great program.

now they spend time bragging about their close losses.

Scott Frost is on course for four straight losing seasons. Yet they’re just as good as the number 2 team in the land.

it is a straight up cult.

Good teams find a way to win those close games. They might be as talented as Iowa, but they aren’t as good.
It's interesting. They very well might beat Iowa in Lincoln. Physically Nebraska has been very good after the opening night collapse at Illinois. They have figured out their defense at least to an extent, and on offense they have a nice mix of running and throwing. And then there are 2-3 plays a game where they make horrific mistakes. I don't disagree from a physical standpoint, they probably should have beaten Michigan State, Oklahoma and perhaps Michigan. But all the plays matter. A real media would be asking the coach about how they get over the hump instead of the fawning that is going on.

Nebraska fans like to point to their national championships anytime anyone says anything bad about their program. But do you realize their last national title was 1997? Almost 25 years ago! 99.999 percent of guys playing college football today weren’t even born yet.

They’re getting closer and closer to Minnesota football. Dominated the 1930s and early 40s with national titles, but haven’t done much of anything on a national scale since.

That’s what Nebraska is becoming. A program that once won national titles way back in the day, but today is just another program.

I've watched two of their games, Illinois and Michigan, and parts of two others. They are improved since the loss to Illinois and have been competitive with Oklahoma and Michigan. Their defense is their strongest asset but I did notice that its conditioning was suspect in the second half of the Michigan game. A lot of hands on hips especially in the 4th quarter. I would add that Michigan twice settled for field goals in the red zone in the first half. It could have been 21 to 7 at the half. The defense has a lot of experienced players in their 6th year which has benefited them.

At the half Nebraska figured out some plays to counter Michigan's aggressiveness. Nebraska had a play where the tight end ran a route in the center of the field and Michigan's LB's went for the fake hand off to a back. It ended in an easy TD. Martinez is the Nebraska offense. He had a good game against Michigan but his propensity to turn the ball over caught up with him on a late fumble. He has been able to stay healthy considering the hits he has taken.

Their special teams are probably their biggest weakness. Nothing to write home about.

The reporter's exuberance is showing after Nebraska had a good chance of winning in overtime if Martinez hadn't coughed up the football. It remains to be seen if Nebraska can reach the emotional level in future games.

When talking about Iowa's B1G Championships, I was told by a Little Debbie fan that only outright championships count.

I then told that Little Debbie fan that there was one outlet that named Michigan the 1997 National Champions and since there was no outright champion, that meant they can't count 1997 as a national championship team.

They are such a dumb fan base.

Becoming? Its what they are. It was literally over two decades ago in another century.

I am a little nervous about that game. Always depends what Martinez shows up.
They want us bad, very bad, more then anyone. Our offense needs to improve by then and it should. We need to stay healthy. We do both of these things we win and stay undefeated. It may turn out to be Nebraska’s Bowl game and they will be pumped for this game. Them knocking us down from a undefeated team and playoffs will be there goal. I to worry a little about this game. Exciting times are a head.

I have read for the umpteenth time on the Husker board about how Iowa's trophy case is empty for National Titles. Iowa has legitimate claims to a NT for 1921, 1922, 1960. In those days, crystal balls weren't given out. But, you can bet a Nebraska farm, if Iowa won a NT this year or any year, the cornholers wouldn't recognize it or would say that Iowa doesn't deserve it.

There has been a marked improvement in Nebby’s play this year, just not in their record. I know their super seniors are really looking forward to finally earn a bowl bid and they will definitely be motivated for the Iowa game. IMO that makes them very dangerous for us.

Frost has probably done enough to keep his job, and next year they’ll likely take a step back. It’s going to be fun watching the ongoing explosions in their fan base.
