It's a Cult. Nebraska football media...

There has been a marked improvement in Nebby’s play this year, just not in their record. I know their super seniors are really looking forward to finally earn a bowl bid and they will definitely be motivated for the Iowa game. IMO that makes them very dangerous for us.

Frost has probably done enough to keep his job, and next year they’ll likely take a step back. It’s going to be fun watching the ongoing explosions in their fan base.
I'm inclined to agree. Iowa might still be playing for an undefeated CFP bid and Nebraska might still be playing for a bowl bid and their coach's job. That's a lot of motivation for a veteran Nebraska team playing their last game at home.

They want us bad, very bad, more then anyone. Our offense needs to improve by then and it should. We need to stay healthy. We do both of these things we win and stay undefeated. It may turn out to be Nebraska’s Bowl game and they will be pumped for this game. Them knocking us down from a undefeated team and playoffs will be there goal. I to worry a little about this game. Exciting times are a head.
Same thing was said about Iowa St

I watched alot of the Michigan - Nebraska game. Michigan's defense was awful...awful. The gave up big play after big play. Everyone talks about how good the Michigan defense is...but they were out of position the entire second half. How do you allow a TE to run free down the middle with no one around...both linebackers bit and their safeties were completely out of position on the hashes. They had a pass to the TE or maybe he was a WR, where Martinez lollipops a pass over the DE, he catches it behind the line of scrimmage and there is no Michigan defender within 25 yards and he scores from 30 yards out.

None of those things happen with Iowa's defense I don't care if we are in man, two deep, quarters or whatever. If Michigan was a sound team defensively...that game wouldn't have been close.

This is where Nebraska fails in my opinion. There media is talking them up...how great they are...and Frost can't keep them on task...they just expect to beat teams based on how they played the previous teams. It appears they have a different mentality this year...but going into the Boat Rowers house...and Minny has beaten them the last few years...it will be interesting.

Watching how our secondary plays and then watching other teams it like night and day. Ours are not necessarily going out to defend but running their routes to catch. I don't see that in any other games

I hope Frost keeps his job. He's developing a Nebraska culture where he throws his players under the bus and has all his high ranked recruits leave town.

Spy Martinez in the best Phil Parker way possible & the Hawks should come out on top. Mistakes will happen from there.
Yeah ... spying Martinez is one approach ... but the problem with that is that you usually want to spend your LBs wisely covering TEs. As much as I hate giving Nebbers credit ... their TEs are pretty decent.

True, then it has to be timely blitzes to get to him. Point remains - you limit Martinez, you win the game. Nebraska isn't doing it any other way.

Six Knebraska starters are seniors, assuming a few of those super seniors. Seems normal.

iowa is younger though for starters. Only seven seniors in entire two-deeps.
Same as the huskers.

I would bet that because Iowa is having a better year, Iowa will lose more to the draft, so it’s likely that Nebraska will have a more experienced team than Iowa next year.

Living here they are definitely culty. It’s crazy. Brasky is a lot better this season and could beat Iowa because that’s football…they aren’t bad. but to chat like you are a top 10 team while sitting at 3-4 is just straight up delusion. It’s almost like they are have an entitled “you owe me a top 25 rank” mentality, Man I hope some team like Minnesota knocks them off.

Do you honestly expect Martinez playing in end 4th quarter if Campbell or Benson spying him?

Going to be a tough game. Especially if they are playing for a bowl game.
Tell you what - they are RIGHT there in every game.

Neb’s offense is pretty potent and, in general, much improved as a team. Will be tough.

If we’re injury-free going into Lincoln, I think we squeak out a sixth consecutive W.

Nebraska plays Ohio St and at Wisconsin the two games before us with a bye week in between them. Hopefully they will be softened up by the time they play us.

You nailed it, and that’s exactly why I’m such a huge fan of frost. The sad thing is, though, that the general Nebraska culture is so toxic, it’s really hard to attract a great coach there. Let’s say Im Matt Campbell, And I am looking at opportunities beyond Toledo. Knowing how Nebraska has treated good coaches like Solich, and knowing that I would have much more freedom and a lower bar at Iowa State, I probably would take the lower salary at Iowa State and put myself in a better position to have my pic of bigger programs in a few years.

Knebraska is no longer a destination program. Their greatest years are behind them and everybody knows it. Who the hell would want to go there and stay there when the Fanbase wants a national championship every few years, and anything less is a failure? And that everybody knows that those national championships were won at a cost of a corrupt program and in an era of over 100 scholarship players. Lincoln is a crappy place, the University of Nebraska isn’t even an AAU member anymore, and most people in the Big Ten don’t even want Nebraska as a member anymore, do you get looked down upon all the time. Sucks.

It's interesting. They very well might beat Iowa in Lincoln. Physically Nebraska has been very good after the opening night collapse at Illinois. They have figured out their defense at least to an extent, and on offense they have a nice mix of running and throwing. And then there are 2-3 plays a game where they make horrific mistakes. I don't disagree from a physical standpoint, they probably should have beaten Michigan State, Oklahoma and perhaps Michigan. But all the plays matter. A real media would be asking the coach about how they get over the hump instead of the fawning that is going on.
DOUBT THAT. Debbie has quite the hill to climb vs the HAWKS. They turnover the ball. They haven't played the likes of the IOWA, leading the nation in plus turnovers. What? Something like 16 interceptions and a couple of fumbles.

BTW- they lost to OU, Mich St and Michigan, so they probably shouldn't have beaten them. Revisionist, hopeful thinking aside, playing close and moral victories don't count. Frost has NEVER beaten a ranked team at Neb. 0-10, I believe. They will be favored in a couple of remaining games, we'll see if they can win those.

SEVEN IN A ROW ON THIS BLACK AND GOLD FRIDAY!!

Nebraska fans like to point to their national championships anytime anyone says anything bad about their program. But do you realize their last national title was 1997? Almost 25 years ago! 99.999 percent of guys playing college football today weren’t even born yet.

They’re getting closer and closer to Minnesota football. Dominated the 1930s and early 40s with national titles, but haven’t done much of anything on a national scale since.

That’s what Nebraska is becoming. A program that once won national titles way back in the day, but today is just another program.
True.

Did you know that most of Debbie's wins over IOWA occurred BEFORE 1946? That's right. We didn't play from 1947 to 1978. Since 1979, we are 8-8 with Deb since we resumed play. Of course, 6 of them have been the current win streak.

Their site a lot think they should be top 25. No joke. They also have top 15 talent.

Most seem to be backing Frost now.

In 2019, playing at home for the last time (for many) debbie needed a black friday win to go bowling and get to a 6-6 record. Guess that wasn't enough motivation for them. They lost.

Well the way I see it, it might be a win/win for Iowa. If Iowa were to win they get their 7th straight over Nebraska and playoff hopes would remain intact. If Nebraska were to win then we likely get Scott Frost for a few more years. 😆

We are MUCH improved as a team. We already have six in a row. Going for 7. GO HAWKS!

Was it Bowling Green that beat Minn?

If so, we’ll find out if Nebber is better than BG after this weekend’s score against Minn.

There’s something I thought I’d never type, “Nebber’s better than Bowling Green.”
Hey @ROCKY MOUNTAIN HAWK, I think lost in the disappointment surrounding Saturday’s loss to Purdue was the comforting affirmation that Bowling Green is STILL better than Nebber. It’s good to know that some things really never do change.
