Good administrators have no trouble getting rid of subpar teachers. The problem now is finding someone better to replace them.
Shortage is real right now. It's not just the city schools that nobody wants to go to anyway.

That said, it depends heavily on the location whether or not a good administrator can get rid of a bad teacher (mostly union red tape).

In many ways a good administrators hands are tied even to incentivize good teachers because pay is determined by time served and degree level rather than performance.

Firing a teacher requires documentation from actual observations done by administrators. If a bad teacher is not removed the administration is not doing their job. The union just makes sure that the procedures are followed. What is so bad about holding everyone accountable?

Ya, that's why the lazy awful, could careless teachers are paid the same as the hard working devoted ones who've worked the same amount of time. Is that your definition of accountable?

If they don’t get their masters they aren’t paid the same and those that do.

So are saying that two teachers both with their masters who have worked the same amount of time, should be paid exactly the same regardless if one of them is extremely effective, dedicated and hard working and the other is lazy, rude and never prepared?
