The UCLA coach and his smirk are waiting if the Hawkeyes can handle the Zags. UCLA gets an undeserved invite and ISU goes down. Karma is finally on Iowa's side, and I'm gonna love every minute of it.
really? What was Arizona's excuse playing at home?Originally posted by CRHawk85:
saw the Arizona game and quite frankly that was as bad as Arizona can play.
I don't believe anyone is discrediting the Zags. Gonzaga will be very tough to beat and Iowa will have to have its best game of the year. However, that really isn't what is being discussed here. It is simply commenting on the deliciousness of an Iowa vs. alford sweet sixteen matchup SHOULD we be lucky enough to get past Gonzaga.Originally posted by 100yearscounting:
Hawk fans should be giving the zags more credit for being a 2 seed. They are a very good team. To me it will come down to two things, rebounding and defense.
I believe the operative words in the OP were "if the Hawkeyes can handle the Zags". IF the Hawks can get by the Zags, playing Alford's team would be very interesting. Who can deny that? I'm sure more than a few Zag fans have allowed themselves to ponder a rematch over a team they've pounded already....IF they can handle the Hawks.Originally posted by 100yearscounting:

don't care where the game was played....AZ was awful that day. I never said the Zags were bad. Try not to be so sensitive. In fact overall it was just a really poorly played game and I just chalked it up to November basketball.Originally posted by baldwinzag:

FWIW, Zags shot 38% FG, and 4-17 from 3pt. Both their lowest marks on the season and still found a way to play them straight up ON THE ROAD.
Credit to Zona to hold GU, yet Arizona was around 45%.
It was our post play and rebounding +8 that had us leading all game long until Ashley hit 3 straight shots from deep to tie it. Wiltjer's game winning shot went half-way down and out.
It wasn't either's "best" game, yet dude, it does work both ways.
