It's nice to see that we beat Ohio State out for Renteria. We have so much flexibility now at the lower weights. Lee, Cashman, Renteria and DeSantos all have their redshirts remaining and Lee has the added bonus of an Olympic Redshirt. These guys can be around for awhile.

Hey FLO, how would you rank that recruiting class now? Everyone else had last year's incoming freshman class as #1, but FLO had us #2. You add Renteria and DeSanto's to Lee, Warner, Murin, Axmeer, Costello and Myles Martin and this class has to earn, even FLO's, #1 ranking.

Also, we bring back the second most points from the NCAA this season and that's prior to adding Warner, Desanto's/Renteria, Wilke dropping, Lugo stepping in for Sorenson, Kemmer upgrading 174 and Young dropping to 157, which is the best weight for him He's been trying to force himself to get bigger and it wasn't happening, so now he's in the right weight. We only had one guy graduate, but are going to have at least 5 new guys at different weights. The race is tightening and once again, as much bias as FLO gives to PSU, they have to admit that Iowa has closed the gap. One last thought is that we only graduate one guy this year and PSU graduates a great class... The future is bright for the Hawkeyes.

The team could look like:

Lee, Cashman

Renteria/DeSanto's/Glynn

Turk/Murin/Happel (another year of development for all of these guys) or either Renteria or DeSantos can bump up a weight if they can win the weight.

Lugo
Young
Marinelli
Kemmer
Wilke
Warner
Stoll (the only senior on the team) and we have a good heavyweight coming in. Who said, Tom doesn't have a plan?

If healthy and a few things bounce our way, which is the same for every team, we could finish with all 10 on the podium. I know all 10 is a reach, but there is no hole in this line-up. All ten guys are quality wrestlers and could all end up on the podium.

We got Myles Martin?! 184 just got solved ;)

Woah that's big...

Obviously everyone has to win their own weight and earn their spot, but speculation says jrent red shirt year 1 and
125 Lee
133 desanto
141 murin/turk
149 lugo

Then eventually some wrestlers will hopefully be able to grow into into upper weights to replace lugo.

I don't see any reason to use Lee's red shirt but if he wants to for Olympics obviously everyone would be okay with that. We are looking strong in the future

he could do his thing, then wrestle the final month of the season or even just bigs and ncaas.

Great news. Murin or Turk will be fine at 41 but I wish we could see Lee, Desanto and Rentiera man those three lower weights this coming year. Lee, Gilman and Clark are going to be magnets for years to come for the nations best lightweights. The future, and I mean this year is getting brighter, we are back on top. Go Hawks.

This looks awesome. Time to focus on the upperweights.

I've been thinking that with Dawg moving up to 74 would and Cass coming in, maybe Kennedy after that; we are pretty set at 4 if the last 5 weight classes.

Or you could tell him that’s not what Renteria said in an interview. Spooner just linked the article.
He is quoted “he wants to stay 133” but he didn’t draw a line in the sand and keeping 141 open as well.
