James Butler goes for 4 TDs in Canada

Useless fact: James Butler's high school football coach at St. Francis was none other then Greg Purnell (former Linn-Mar coach of the 80s & 90s)

The defense played up here makes B12 Defenses look like the steel Curtain defenses. Embarrassing rules and lack of talent.

Happened to turn on the CFL game late afternoon yesterday. Hamilton vs Edmonton. James Butler is the starting RB for Hamilton. Having a very good year there.
He’s one of the best RBs in the league. Ever since he had the breakout year in the XFL (I think in 2020) he’s capitalized with an incredible run in the CFL. I think he just signed a pretty nice contract going into last season.

It’s telling that he never made it with a team even in the CFL with what appeared to be a great deal of talent in college.
One would think Wadley's moves, speed, catching ability would be very useful in the bigger canadian field and rules to allow forward motion.

Considerations would include below average & inconsistent blocking and special teams play.

Anyone else think it looks strange with multiple players moving around at the same time???? LOL
Yes. It is hard to get used to and not saying illegal motion or false start. The field with the 55 yard line and everything is in yards, but the entire country is metric.

I do wish our end zones were more like theirs. So friendly to the offense.

Any of you old timers remember RB Jamaal Butler (Oak Creek, WI)? I can’t remember, but I want to say Iowa was in the mix or he had verballed? He got in trouble and then ended up suing his HS….🤔

Good for him. These guys do not play to get rich. Bulter only makes $130,000 ish per year.

Canada should just give it up and take an NFL team in Vancouver and one in Toronto. Weather in Toronto in Dec/Jan isn't any different than Buffalo. I know it would kill the CFL, but their stands are always damn near empty.

Different talent level and money NFL and CFL.
If you figure NFL 17 games per year and on average 160 plays per game. Tristan Wirfs plays 80 plays per game. He makes $20,680 per snap. Good for him.
