JB on PSU fans disrespect.

He really expressed his anger about PSU fans and coaches. I love how the Flow interviewer just kept moving on from it and not acknowledging it. Can’t upset any PSU fans or potential recruits!
Did he mention how manning (though he is a douche) stuck up and fought for his athlete? No, surprisingly he didn’t bash his coach for having his back. Manning a grade A douche, PSU fans just are just a notch above. Your comment exemplifies it. Gotta love how the most respected and decorated US wrestler of all time hates you. Even going as far as saying “they thought they killed/broke me”

Yeah, PSU very new to winning. There fan base doesn’t recognize greatness. When Gable put on a show with big Cass he got a respect.
Not a psu fan but was at ott. Manning should have ignored and just walked out. Instead he was like a 3rd grader whining with his fists to his eyes to the crowd walking out. It was the most immature thing I have ever see a coach do. Had nothing to do with JB just Manning drawing attention.
More like Manning caused the crowd to jeer not Manning stooping to the crowds level.

No one is trying to change your minds. Just a little education. Until JB acknowledges the mistakes of his coach, then he comes across as a little girl for continuing to cry about it. He knows full well what Manning did.

I only recall the one guy telling JB that his career was over and he really insulting him. That was about as classless as it gets in my opinion. I will give Manning and JB a little pass if they did not act perfectly. They were probably heartbroken and in a deep state of despair. Taking on the wrath of ignorant fans may have been more than they were capable of handling at that time.
JB has been such a beacon for USA wrestling for years. He has been an inspiration for a generation of wrestlers and he has been all class. Can we say the same about certain fan bases?
WIth that being said - I am sure the majority of PSU fans respect JB and are also appalled at what happened and how he was treated. A few bad apples can spoil the whole bunch. In no way do I think the majority of PSU fans despise JB or have ill will towards him..

Imagine having the fanbase to sell out similar to a professional hockey stadium for years and that is the only time someone remembers that happening? To be clear, it is not NEARLY the indictment you think it is....
I did not take it as crying about it, but rather he shared what he has been going thru. The guy is a warrior as is shown by the number of years he has been representing our country across the world and the number of medals he has. It is refreshing to me to hear him talk about his struggles and what he overcame.
I really was more focused on what he overcome as opposed to him blaming someone. Of course, I am not a part of any team's fanbase, so maybe I would take it personally if I were. Maybe to you he seemed to be blaming and crying, but too me he was sharing. I do not think anyone is foolish enough to think the whole PSU fanbase can be represented by a small group of disrespectful fans. I also do not think JB feels all fans from Pennsylvania are like the ones who jeered him.

Every opposing fanbase boos stalling. However, there is a bit of history here specific to JB and it is a bit disingenuous to act like the booing was solely about stalling and had nothing to do with said history...
Nah it sounds like you were not there and the TV did not catch all that happened post match. It was after MM match that Manning drew all the attn. Then instead of JB just walking out after the win he had to try to approach Cael before the tunnel if front of the entire place which was totally dumb after a win which in turn what had the place fired up for the Nolf match. I truly believe if Manning and JB would have ignored the crowd and just walked out nothing would have happened during or after the Nolf match.
It's actually quite simple. There is a certain sub-set of fans, for nearly all fanbases, that make it easy for opposing fanbases to hate them. Overall, there is no doubt that PSU has a strong and fundamentally decent fanbase. But, you have the vocal group that acts like no other team can possibly cultivate elite wrestlers. Only PSU/NLWC is elite and only PSU/NLWC has the right to be. Those are the few that I try to mess with on here as much as humanly possible. They are almost certainly the same minority that caused the "issue" JB has with PSU.
I know they don't represent PSU as a whole and most on here should understand that as well. But, when you have the few of you on here that specifically come to stoke the fire, you aren't really defending PSU, you are making them look worse to a group that already looks at PSU through a lens that negatively distorts them...

He was not sticking up for his wrestler. He was antagonizing the crowd. The antics were childish.

After reading this post and many like it I can sit back and smile knowing EXACTLY WHY I AM A HAWKEYE fan instead of the place down the road . To treat JB this way is just plain disgusting and forget Manning's actions JB was greeted by a huge chorus of Boos. I have seen the fans get nasty with various teams and opponents many times over. The ONLY thing some of these PSU fans have going positive for them is.... They aren't Philadelphia Eagles fans .

I believe JB mentioned the PSU coaches and wrestlers, not just the fans. I sure would like to hear more about that side of it. I just can't believe the coaches and wrestlers of the program that created wrestling (lol) would treat one of the sports greatest wrestlers disrespectfully (lol).

That depends what you mean by "decent." Even after 15 years of success they seem quite ignorant during matches at times.
Didn’t hear about this. Was JB hostile/complaining when approaching Cael or was he attempting to shake hands? Or what was your read on JB approaching the coaching staff?
