LolThe 1980 election would have been interesting if Reagan’s henchmen hadn’t negotiated a delayed the release of the hostages

You have got to be fvcking kidding.Good man, worst president in my lifetime.
The first election I was old enough to vote was 1976, and I voted for
What do we put the odds at that Turd will attend Carter's funeral when that day arrives???If you seriously think the guy who lied constantly and turned covid into a political stunt, embraced white nationalists and set race relations back 50 years, then lied to try to overthrow a free and fair election was a better president you are a steaming pile of shit. But everyone is entitled to their opinions I guess
I can agree with this. He was a great person after leaving office. I think he was a good person while serving and probably meant well, but was just not the right person for the job and that made him a God awful POTUS.Good man, worst president in my lifetime.

Once he left office he did a lot of good for mankind.
I think he’s be there. I don’t think the Carters would disinvite him so I expect he’ll show up and try to grab some positive press. What do we put the odds at that Turd will attend Carter's funeral when that day arrives???
I say <1%.
IMO (which will get blasted), Carter and Bush Jr. always seemed like great humans--just not amazing presidents.

I forget how long ago, but Jimmy was on record as saying he wanted Trump to attend his funeral. Always gracious he thought it might be healing. We shall see. Like all things, it depends if Trump can get anything for himself out of the deal. Which only heightens the distinctions between the two men.I think he’s be there. I don’t think the Carters would disinvite him so I expect he’ll show up and try to grab some positive press.
My dad RIP got to meet him in person at his work. His boss was a big wig with the democrat party in South Carolina. My dad's company would get calls from the White House and the lady that answered the phones thought it was a joke. It was the real dealI wouldn't say he was the best President in modern history, but I think he clearly was the best person to be President in modern history. He was incredibly smart. He cared about this country and its people. He put others needs above his own. There were some rough patches with his Presidency, but I think that Carter was and is an honorable man who truly serves the country and its people. I hope that one day again we well have honorable leaders. Unfortunately, I'm skeptical that it will ever happen again.
I hope Trump doesn’t go. Carter has devoted his entire life to serving his country and helping his fellow Americans. He deserves a dignified ceremony, free from pointless drama.I forget how long ago, but Jimmy was on record as saying he wanted Trump to attend his funeral. Take a pill.I was thinking of him earlier this week actually. The most Christian President we’ve had in what, 60 years? 75 years? 100? and would get beaten like a red headed stepchild by Trump for Evangelicals’ votes. Like 100%-0. Absolutely f*cking creamed. They’d ride him out on a rail of every mega church in America.
He doesn’t need medicine for preaching the truth. He posted the truth.Take a pill.
Reminds me of Iowa's very own Herbert Hoover. Outstanding character, a true humanitarian, did great things outside his presidency, but the presidency itself was pretty much a disaster.Yes, I meant since leaving office. A great human being, a bad POTUS.
The 70's were so wierd, I'm not sure anyone could have been a good POTUS
You have got to be fvcking kidding.
Reagan was just following Nixon's example. The 1980 election would have been interesting if Reagan’s henchmen hadn’t negotiated a delayed the release of the hostages
And turn it in to a circus.I think he’s be there. I don’t think the Carters would disinvite him so I expect he’ll show up and try to grab some positive press.
What a great story and thank you for sharing it.There is a weekend day tourist train thing in South Georgia that goes through some towns including stops in Americus and Plains GA. Back in 2006 we took my three year old who was obsessed with trains and older daughter and after getting back on train from tourist stuff in Plains, he and his wife were in our car saying hi to everyone and went through whole train. Apparently they always did that when they could. It was really cool. They looked very old and frail then so it is amazing he is still with us almost 20 years later.
I hope Trump doesn’t go. Carter has devoted his entire life to serving his country and helping his fellow Americans. He deserves a dignified ceremony, free from pointless drama.
And dignified simply is not in Trump’s repertoire. All the other ex-Presidents will be there for the right reasons. But it’s difficult to imagine a scenario where Trump shows up and doesn’t try to finagle the spotlight onto himself.
Do you ever turn the douche setting off?

And active in bare knuckle boxingAt 95 years old, he was still volunteering his time for Habitat For Humanity.![]()
It’s easy to forget that prior to Bill Clinton California was consistently, reliably Republican in POTUS elections.
Interesting to look at Montana with 4 electoral votes, Florida with 17, Texas at 21.
