Arguably the best former POTUS in American history
Nope. Not even close. I admire him for a lot of things, and he was a great man, but he was in over his head. He was an incredible Governor, but had no idea how things work inside the beltway, or in the middle east. Everyone in the Intelligence Community and MIC hated him, and did everything they could to destroy him. Congress, including Dems wanted to destroy him.

He’s talking post presidency.

You responded to a post about the best Post Presidency in kinda shitty terms. Wrong.

I would go with John Quincy Adams, but would not disagree with Carter.

It depends on your criteria. Carter and Hoover did a lot of humanitarian work. Q. Adams was a true public servant.

Not heavy on details, but the grandson of Jimmy and Rosalyn says, “The end is near”, for both of them. Even though Rosalyn is experiencing dementia and Jimmy is facing pain and physical hardships they are still able to enjoy time together. And, Jimmy still watches his Braves on TV.
Sadly the article has an imbedded piece about Lauren Boebert. That couldn’t be a bigger 180 from the Carters.

I think one of the great things about Jimmy is that he is a normal person. A real guy.
I wouldn’t go that far. You don’t get to be president if you are a normal guy. But I do think he is a sincere guy, which sadly, is a rare thing these days.

He and w are probably my nominees for best post presidential lives for their respective parties.

Umm no, some people just don't "go" as quickly
I know that and you know that, but trust me, the HHS Office of Inspector General doesn't know that. If you're getting Medicare hospice coverage based on a physician's 6-month-left cert, you better damn well not hang around too much longer than that.

I think it's pretty reasonable to expect anyone who's 98-99 to have less than 6 month life expectancy. I doubt they'll give this any thought.

Oh, they give this sort of thing plenty of thought...
