Joe T needs more PT--Fran wake up call

I agree with you but it's baffling how this team can't guys wide open looks with all the attention Garza gets. Unfortunately JW is an easy cover and is one dimensional and CJ has looked a step slow since returning from his ankle injury. Neither guy can shake anybody to create space. They basically wear a defender all game and go into turtle mode. At this point it doesn't seem to matter because neither is making even the open shots. MN shot lights out in the second half. Hopefully that wears off.

I don’t thing CJF goes into turtle mode. I think like you said, he probably is still battling his multiple injuries and physically isn’t 100%.

There is nothing wrong with feeding the post. Garza is the best player and they should be feeding him every time down if they can and forcing the defense to make a decision if they guard one-on-one or double or triple team. Where I have seen the team come up short when this happens are the other players aren’t cutting or making themselves available to Garza when the defense collapses on him. They are standing around the 3 pit line.

This is more a coaching lapse than a player lapse. We have perimeter players that can't get around the defender to get to the rim, right? So why isn't a key part of our offense having them cut to the basket and then get a pass, probably from Garza who would have rotated out of the post. This lacking, which would get layups and/or draw fouls, would improve offensive consistency and alleviate the long dry spells which are killing us. Improved offensive rebounding would also help with that problem.

It's interesting that opponents are sending 3 guys to their offensive boards and have absolutely no fear of us fast breaking them.
Ralph Miller would have killed them.
