Joe t

The short answer is because Connor sucks.

I'm not saying Joe T is all-conference material. I'm simply saying he is the best option Iowa has at PG right now, as said as that is.
So because you don't like CMac, Joe is automatically a better option Lmao

Just seeing him play the last couple of minutes, I would play him a lot more. I saw him get a steal and a layup. Saw him penetrate the lane and kick out for an open missed three and then I saw him run down a lose ball and take it coast to coast for a layup. Shortly after I saw Connor turn it over once again.
Play the guy that plays with some energy and has a chance to do something.

What makes you think Toussaint should? You've watched him play for what? 15 total minutes?
Are you kidding me? Conner isn't even in the same league as Toussaint when it comes to PG play........not even close. I have seen enough of Toussaint to know this would be a different team with the offense running through him.........Will he make some freshman mistakes? Sure. But let him make those mistakes and learn from them. He has already shown that he has elite court vision and can easily penetrate and dish........That's what Iowa has needed for a long time.......he would make Bohannon better also..........

He's 2 games into his freshman year and had no other big offers.

JoeT had a Wichita State offer...more successful program NCAA wise then Iowa in past decade and they also have a PG starting in NBA. Which of Fran's PG recruits prior to JoeT have made it in NBA?

JoeT amps up the defense and can get to rim. Brick layer from outside, but so is Connor. I'd start JoeT and bring in Connor as the backup.

What is all the love for Pemsl? Kriener had 8 rb and 13 points in 18 minutes. I would say that deserves a start at the 4 position.

He did have a nice game with only a few Kreiner moments like giving the ball to the other team under their basket.

My thinking with Pemsl is this program is soft and he’s one of the nastier players playing his first game. Bringing Kreiner off the bench brings something into the game but I’m ok with either guy starting.

Nunge has been a total bust so far. Soft, slow, passive. Could there be a worse combination?

Touissant is raw and will make mistakes, but the up side is tremendous. With him on the floor Iowa has someone capable of breaking the D down and scoring or creating open looks for others. Connor plays his ass off, but is just too slow. The fastest way to a better Joe is more PT. I would say the same about Evelyn. I would like to see a couple games with those two getting the majority of the time at PG and move Connor to the 3 to spell Wieskamp. I suspect a JBo red shirt announcement coming this week or next based on his limited PT. The Connor experiment as starting PG needs to end soon.

Kriener is a tease. Every time he has a good game, he comes back with a wtf type game. Clearly Kriener is >>> Nunge...Nunge, I'm shocked he's even worse than he was as Freshman.

Nunge wasn't quick as a freshman and it's gotten worse by adding the weight. I thought Fran would have learned from the Basabe experiment when he bulked up and regressed. Guy lacks aggression and you can't fix that. Hate to say it, but I think the best spot for Nunge is at IUPUI or Evansville.

I said I wouldn't give up on Nunge just yet after game 1, but I expected to see at least something positive tonight.

It was rough to watch. Got benched early and stayed engaged. Got yanked the second time and he went towards the end of the bench with the practice guys, put his warm up on and just sat there. I feel for the kid because I am sure he is disappointed. With that being said, I fear he is going to be another Fran bust. We need that spot to be an athletic difference maker like Reed was for DePaul. At best we get Dom Uhl like production from him and that might be a stretch.

Here is the thing, IF Connor was surrounded by high level athletes he would be a real nice looking PG out there on the court. However in reality he doesn't have any of those types of athletes surrounding him so not only can they not make Connor look better he can't make them look better.

JT has that contrast, he needs to be playing WAY WAY more and I personally would start him at this point.
