John Deere Classic 2024

Zach’s Masters win was the only one with a score over par if I remember right…

…and then he mismarked his putt on 18 at the Open to incur a penalty stroke. Luckily he was up 2 shots…
Wow - held Tiger off Tiger who was tied for second.

He held off Speith at the Open by 1 stroke. If Jordan would have won, it would have been his 3rd major in a row. Yet he waited to congratulate Zach.

The first round leader, Jonas Blixt, is an FSU alum. He has 3 tour wins in his career (one of them the team event in New Orleans). He's had a lot of injury issues the last few years.

Dude has fallen way down the leaderboard with his round today (+1)

Golf is hard

Dang, he bogeyed his last two holes right after I posted that. Was even for most of the day - shot the scorecard on his first 9, then bogey-birdie after the turn, then 5 more pars.
Bad finish, but the pars don't get it fone in this event either. Gotta go low.

Typical cardinal fan. Smartest fans - sure.

Anyone know why they’re doing 3-somes off 1 & 10 today?
I think the Tour meteorologist got this one wrong. Looks like a perfect day.

Per the Quad City Times.....
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Later tee times: With a chance of thunderstorms forecasted for Saturday morning, the PGA Tour has pushed tee times back for the third round.

Players will play in threesomes and go off the first and 10th tees between 9:45 a.m. and noon. The third round should still conclude by 5 p.m.

I bet $2 on Zach at 150-1 and $1 on Blixt at 500-1. Should have cashed out after Round 1 for 9 bucks.

Who was the guy in a late group that hint the ball out of the fairway trap on 18, right into the middle of the pond that runs on the left side of the green there? Holy Cow! As soon as he hit…..FOUL BALL!

Back in the day, one could always tell if a player was feeling the heat or not as they would start hitting those big ol’duck hooks off the tee and pull hook their irons off the fairway! There was no doubt what this kid was feeling….holy shit, he hit is so far out of play even the announcers were flabbergasted!
Nice to know, it can still happen….even with the big dimpled straighter ball!
Live……and learn. The sun rises in the east tomorrow morning.
