What was the story on John Raridon choosing Nebraska? I see Iowa did offer.

Somebody ought to tell him if he starts for Iowa he'll probably make the NFL. Iowa has pretty much the top OL staff in the country, not so much Nebraska.

Much more playing time possibilities on a terrible team. He also considered Purdue and Central Michigan.

Id take him if he woulda ever considered Iowa. However, he committed to NE early and stuck to it with little to no wavering. Wish the same could be said for Ross P.

And David Barrent. And Melvin Gordon. And Delano Hill. And others that I can't remember.

Exactly, I know Iowa has benefitting before but that Ross P, will always sting..

Stupid phone...

When was the last time we flipped another P5 commit not named Iowa state?

Amani Jones... Illinois to Iowa. This current class....
They flipped Angelo Garbutt from Oregon State last year......

Spaced on Jones. Garbutt was coaching change, new staff didn't go out of their way to keep him
Garbutt had already taken his official to OSU prior to Riley leaving for Nebby. According to him, Andersen told him they still wanted him to honor his verbal.......Wiegers and Beathard also were "victims" of a coaching change....Miles Taylor would be the last one, prior to Jones this year, if you want to list players that Iowa poached from P5 schools that didn't, at the time, have issues with coaching changes. Nelson is another one, but he was verballed to Clown U and that would be a disqualifier based on your paramaters...

Wasn't Lomax supposed to go to Virginia? Or am I full of it?
Yes, he switched from UVA to Iowa. 3 of the 4 starters in the defensive backfield switched their verbals to Iowa. King,Taylor, and Lomax. Nieman is the other defensive starter that switched. On offense, you have L. Daniels (Boston College), and CJ(Ole Miss).

King and Nieman switched from MAC schools.

Raridon is recruiting Farnoik pretty hard to join him in Lincoln from what I have heard, John was going to Nebby from the day he was born and Iowa had no shot....obviously Iowa could not be in a much better place right now and Nebby could not be in a much worse place right now and John is still all Nebby. John is a hell of player and would fit in better with Iowa's scheme than nebby's but I mean his dad played there and he is a fan. Honestly I respect that from him even though I think he will sign with a coach and finish his career with another and hopefully goes 0-4 against Iowa

Thanks all for the information on Raridon. Since he is a big fan of Nebraska it has to be a dream come true for him. Nothing but best wishes. Iowa will find someone who fits and wants to be a Hawkeye! How 'bout them Hawkeyes!

How would one explain John's older brother who played at Notre Dame and later was on Notre Dame's staff or his other brother that went to Wisconsin for football?
His dad was coached by Barry A while at Mason City. Barry was a coach at ND and with his connections got Scott (his father) a job in the strength and conditioning program. Barry also gave Scott a position on the Wisconsin strength and conditioning program at Wisconsin. Scott was let go because of accusations of inappropriate behavior

John Raridon's brother Sam graduated from Valley a few years ago and went to play at Wisconsin. Don't know what happened to him, but I don't think he was on the Badgers roster this year. We'll see if John makes it in college. Lot of hype. Valley's o-line was not good.

I do know that his oldest brother Scott Jr. went to Notre Dame and his only real playing time was as a long snapper. And his other older brother Sam went to Wisconsin on a grayshirt but quit football the spring semester of 2014.

This seems like a good explanation and the fact that his brother obviously realized Lincoln sucks

Lots of animosity to a high school kid wanting to play for his favorite team growing up. Having grown up in a state other than Iowa but attending Iowa due to family ties I see the allure.

The Delano hill decommit was actually a good thing. Lead to offering Desmond King a scholly. I'll take that trade
