What is the NRA doing to combat terrorism? I didn't see it in the ad, looked like one of those Detroit revival ads.
I understand true freedom fighters can enlist with the Kurds. I'll miss all the brave posters here.

As far as allowing carry and combatting terror, flashback to Paris. Terrorist shoots up restaurant and a woman hides by the door. The terrorist sees her hiding and causally walks up to her and tries to kill her but his gun jams. He leaves and she lives. Very lucky.
Now assume the weapon does not malfunction. As the terrorist approaches, good guy who is allowed to carry can put two to the chest and one to the head. Scumbag dies, good guy lives.
Just think if people in the theater killings had guns. There would be a lot more blood lost and people would be firing their guns hysterically at each other.

Another thing I didn't see in the ad was the same government that is disarming the world in 2am no knock raids and carpet-bombing whole continents (many times from those heroic video drone operators in the basements of New Mexico), is the same one that "won't let a good crisis go to waste".

Really? Violent crime including gun crime has been cut in half in the last 20 years. Homicide rates are less than half of what they were in 1993. Something seems to be going right.
What do you think would happen if people in a dark theater were armed? Would they use their gun to save lives? Would they be able to identify the shooter? Im guessing if your fired your gun at the shooter, you would be mistaken for the shooter and would be killed by a NRA member by accident.

To what degree? Why do you need an assault rifle that unloads 40 rounds a minute or a grenade launcher? What do you need to kill that much? Isn't a handgun, a shotgun enough?
We already have time place and manner restrictions on the first amendment. We have countless exceptions to the fourth amendment, Why should the second be this sacred cow with no restrictions?
The SCOTUS decided in US vs Miller in 1939 that a weapon could be restricted if and only if it had no connection to military or militia activity. Your problem with trying to ban these rifles for being military type weapons is that they are in fact military type weapons. These bans would never withstand a challenge in the Supreme Court and could take the fully automatic restrictions with them.
