Jon Budmayr Expected to be Named WR Coach

I won say anything negative. Is he worthy of this role? Please discuss.
Brace Yourself Here We Go GIF by MOODMAN

Where are you seeing this?

I’ve heard this a few places and makes zero sense. If true what can we do? I mean seriously it’s negligent.
He is another yes man coach that has shown nothing but hindering our offense.
They talk about fundamentals before scheme and routes… isn’t catching an actual football a f’n fundamental????

And fans were worried about Marvin McNutt’s experience?

Not that I was pulling for or against McNutt, but if this is actually true then it lends further credence to the belief Kirk genuinely wants the offense to be worse.

But seriously…Kirk has lost his ****ing mind. I can’t wait, though, for the Budmayr effect to take off, as we no doubt will have a large footprint in all 2A level high schools in the Midwest to poach the next elite J Crew sales team member from the Ball State and Southern Illinois commit list.

This is going to be great.

Lol that anyone was expecting next year to be any different.

I will partake of some crow, however and admit I was predicting Jon to be OC. I knew he would fail up, I just overshot how far. I should know better—never take the over on anything Iowa related.

Sounds like the players really like Budmayer, so there's that.

What does a great WR coach teach? Cuts? Setting up a defender to take advantage and get separation? Blocking? Film study?

Honestly I don't know what you even look for. Strength and conditioning are obviously key, as is knowing the offense/routes, so where does the WR coach come in? What makes them great?

Purely a question.

KF making KF decisions.

What is funny is Brian Hartline at tOSU makes $1.6 million as their wide receiver coach which will be more than Iowa’s OC and probably wide receiver coach combined.

KF should be fired for malfeasance and his contract not paid out due to these hirings. This isn’t going to end well between KF, BG, and UI.
