He's talking about fascism from a media perspective and he's right. That being said, what Trump is doing right now sure smells and tastes like fascism. It's apparent the guy wants to be Putinesque.

The Huey and Chis types. I think a lot of people would know the type of humans I’m talking about. They are on socials, they are politicians, on legacy media, etc… They are all over the place.
He says our foreign policy is peace through strength. I would argue that his domestic policy is the same.
That's what it sounded like. Doesn't that seem odd to you that you give Huey and Chis that level of influence in regards to outcomes, yet the alternative choices conduct themselves in the same if not worse ways?
There wasn't division like this in the country before Limbaugh, Fox, Gingrich, Freedom Caucus was there?

Well it’s Huey and chis “types” all over social and the legacy media. When they cry wolf over and over again those types do have influence regarding the outcomes of a national election with social media.
In response to the alternative choices and how they conduct themselves, I think it is just as dumb calling people marxists or commies. In terms of influence, I think the culture war through social media makes it easier to attack marginalized groups of individuals Such as Trans people as they are small compared to let’s say independents. If you attack 1 trans person you are attacking a very small percentage of the voting bloc but if you attack one independent you are attacking a massive percentage of the voting bloc.

It's not reactionsims effects that matter so much as how that mindset is being used to fundamentally change how our government functions and what our role as voters in that system will be.

MAGAs see this as a funny joke. This was a pathetic exercise in his 1st term. He worships strong leaders. The President of the United States in the most powerful leader in the world and looks up and across to no leaders(s). He has already taken the country toward disrespect and dishonor.

Jon Stewart is merely a guy that works hard to not let political bias interfere with sound thinking. Or block the truth. And he’s not afraid to call out influential people who fail to do this. His “debates” with Bill O’Reilly were great in that regard.

Yeah I agree on Trump with how he goes about the trolling and such. Regarding your “gone is respect” comment I disagree. The US still has the most respect of any nation just because of how much global power we have. People can disrespect Trump and shit he is saying and doing but the USA as a whole is very well respected imo.

The country is larger than the Orange Turd. But how much longer? And what parts of the world. There is a threshold respect and trust are broken. Once that occurs it's gone. The United States has been the world's peace and empathy broker since World War Two, however shaky. We have assisted countries which has stabilized regions. NATO is an umbrella of security far more important than a narcissist's obsession with contribution of GDP. Not to beat a dead horse, but we're talking about a convicted felon with a history of fraud civil suits, unable to conduct business or non-profits in New York, with the COO of his company in prison complaining about countries not contributing adequate percentage of GDP.
Consider nearly 20, I admit I admit I lost count of his previous administration and orbit were indicted, convicted and/or served prison terms, and have no problem predicting this number will pale when the numbers come in on this term.
If we back out of NATO and continue to intimate threats to countries it will threaten our reputation and erode trust.
The Turd is a circus clown, but we've found he will follow through with his extremism and ignorance of geopolitical reality.
Stewart absolutely despises Trump and all things MAGA, but he also is not averse to pointing out when Dems are engaging in counterproductive behavior. That’s why it’s worth listening to his point regarding fascism.
I don’t always agree with Stewart, but his opinions are almost always well-reasoned and almost always worth at least considering.
So, wow. An adverse view on a subject and the MAGA world goes wild. The same thing with Maher when he had and issue with Democrats, the left or Biden and the Right had orgasms.

First of all, Stewart is not your average Hollywood celebrity. He’s much more intelligent and articulate than most of them. And he’s not just a comedian. He’s also an accomplished interviewer and he has testified in front of Congress.
But the point here is that when someone like Stewart, who hates Trump with every fiber of his being, says some of the rhetoric being used by Dems isn’t helpful, you might want to consider the possibility that some of the rhetoric you’re using isn’t helpful.
He said the rhetoric used by the media and elected officials was extreme. Why does this continue to be applied to randoms on this site?
