Juan Harris!

Hopefully Juan will make the best decision for him. After three de-commitments from Iowa it's absolutely time for both parties to go their own way.

Hawkeye football will not end because of his de-commitment. I do think at some point in life you have to own up to your decisions and honor your commitments. That being said, I haven't walked in Juan's shoes. The kid obviously has talent. But along with those talents come the personal side of life where maybe the support system (many of us were blessed with) are absent from under the roof he calls home.

I wish him well. Time to move forward.

Not trying to do anything. I'm with - glad he's gone because he's a lazy head case. My point was before decommitting he had people who knew him since he was living in Iowa and would root for him at Iowa. Now he will be just a face in the crowd at another school.

There is a lot of truth to that. Know a person I would label him a casual fan. He is a friend of the family of a current player. Now he wants this player to do well. With the team doing well a distant second.

Juan Harris doesn't have a commitable Ohio State offer and most likely never did. They already have commitments from two MUCH higher rated DT prospects (#4 composite rated DT Haskell Garrett, #12 Jerron Cage) and and are going hard after and reportedly lead for #3 rated Jay Tufele. Harris' composite DT rating is #50, he's rated behind their other three targets by a large margin.

I think it's a bit of a joke. Nobody really believes he had an offer from Alabama or Ohio State, but they were in his top 5 or whatever.

Juan has issues! Why commit and then pull your commitment? Its like he wants his name in the media as much as possible for exposure.. If he is undecided, keep your mouth shut and make an informed decision after your senior year is over and evaluate your options.

Something tells me we are better without him. He could be a player that disrupts team chemistry.

I'm still in the frame of mind that his tweeting negativity towards fellow Iowa recruits was the last strike for him and Iowa coaches told him to move on. Until somebody proved otherwise I'll believe that. I don't wish him any ill will, I just won't be cheering for him wherever he lands.

What were these tweets? And were they confrontational, argumentative, or what?

Pattern here is that the kid has some issues upstairs. Home life, head injury, alien probing, who knows. Since he is a young man, as many on here have stated, here's hoping he gets things figured out so he can be an effective contributor of society.

Unfortunately, I can't see how coaches are actually even looking at him with all that's happened. Kids de-commit all the time, it's the new norm unfortunately (although I think if you commit verbally, you're committed and it's done), but 3 times, how could you even think "hey, seems like a good addition to my locker room".

I don't know, but I'm glad we've moved on and I'm sure we'll bring in a guy that wants to be here.

9 weeks away!

9 weeks from today I get to go to a wedding :(

I just noticed Rivals list his home town as Janesville WI something tells me he doesn't want to deal with the 3 commit 3 de-commit thing living in IA.

He was already moving back before the third de-commit so the something telling you is wrong.

Bottom line is that the staff was tired of his act. If you know anything about Iowa football this staff values team players. They do not want players that will need extra attention and a high level of counseling. Juan has repeatedly shown that he needs far more attention than he is worth.

Are you saying the Iowa staff pulled his offer ?

I don't think pulled his offer would be the right phrase. Kevin Bell tweeted at the time of the 3rd decommit about being truthful with recruits and I think it was directed at Juan. Basically told him what needed to be said and he didn't like the feedback and decided to go elsewhere which the staff was ok with.

He has a "Top 7". How many offers? A "Top 7" is a dream when you only get 5 official visits. Which 5 to visit?

Both Minnesota and Indiana have front page articles touting that Juan has broken his silence. I don't have access to the articles, but it would be interesting to see what he is saying.

Talks about how he grew up, says he decommited from Iowa because he wanted to check out more schools, and that his top choices are schools he feels he has the best relationship with.
