They are just trying to get published...and paid...much like those many so called scientists, researchers, etc. that study such vast topics as the length of a bumblebee's pecker...oh how beneficial to mankind that is.
Yes, they try to publish their research to further mankind. Science wouldn't be very helpful if the information wasn't published and digested by the scientific community, and then used to change humanity for the better.
Yep, there are all kinds of studies that sound silly to lay people. And some might be. But considering the vast majority of projects aren't funded, and finding funding for your work is exceedingly difficult, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about when speaking of researchers "getting paid".

I have no problem with their esoteric research...as long as I don't have to fund their nonsense with my tax dollars. Now if it is beneficial to mankind I'm all in...but I'll go back to my original statement that "global warming" is nothing but an unproven and unsubstantiated crock...led by the biggest purveyor of crockery known to mankind Al Gore...and since I reside 20 minutes from his family farm and have met the fraud numerous times I have a right to my opinion of him.

It's not a coincidence that the global warming apocalypse crowd went into hysteria mode about the same time communism started its rapid decline. The best way for those folks to reinvigorate the "gov't is the only one who can run your life" mantra, was for them to say, "If you don't let us impose more gov't on you, the world will die."

It hard to know around here if this is serious from you, but I'm sure it represents some thinking around here. Just think of the number of scientists, lab techs, administrators and support staff this would involve. Don't you think if this was true some grad student making near minimum wage would simply sell the proof to Exxon for millions and retire? And where is the Cabal getting the funds to pay off all these thousands of people, all over the globe every year, over and over? What's the funding source?
Al Gore was not one of the scientists who studied such things. He just brought much of their work to the public eye. It's a shame people determined important research was bunk because of their political opinions of the messenger. It's incredibly flawed reasoning.
The Cabal has more money stashed in the tunnels under Texas than they will ever be able to spend and if you don't think the Blacklist is a documentary Raymond Reddington thinks you are woefully uninformed.

Well, I'll say this. We're probably closer to each other than we think. Whether it's a cabal and people are just too stupid/cowardly to act against it . . . or the fact that a stupid species doesn't need a conspiracy when they don't have the courage to demand rule-by-logic, in the end one thing remains the same. Bruce Jenner is the poster-child for humanity.
Yep. That doesn't mean the science presented isn't accurate and deserving of discussion and action. Again, you're letting your political opinion interfere with objective analysis of the data. I understand that it's a lot of complicated stuff that most of us don't understand, so it's easier to fall back on those political biases. But that's a logical mistake. I tend to listen the experts in fields I'm not an expert in myself, and then try to objectively analyze the information myself and understand it as best I can.
If they want me to bite on it Wolf they better provide a more credible spokesman than Junior...and to show you I am now going to be "open minded" about this I am not going to totally discount their hypothesis but I will need to be shown more credible data than they are providing.

I don't need a "gatekeeper" bud...I need conclusive documentation where this is concerned. Look there are some smart cookies here on this site...it is why I hang out here and not on the SEC boards with the slobbering hordes. I love rational discussion here and with the exception of 2 or 3 that are more interested in the color of my golf balls I get it here. I have read the findings...I'm just not convinced in the validity of their claims. I am still waiting for conclusive evidence that the melting of the polar caps is responsible in some ways for the increased number of polar vortexes that have made their way South the last 3 years freezing our tails and creating havoc in our communities...it has nothing to do with being a "Con"...I want conclusive evidence that global warming is going to one day flood the golf courses of my beloved Myrtle Beach...I'm not getting that and before I buy it or feel the research warrants some sort of international emergency I want more definitive proof.Why do you need a gatekeeper at all? Your golf course may be flooded. Because we live on a world with a dynamic biosphere, the seas have been rising and falling for hundreds of millions of years. We simply don't know how we're changing the world. But since we know ourselves (all 7 billion of us) we tend to assume whatever we're doing is bad for the world. Here's where it gets tricky.

The earth is a LIVING organism, is it not? And in times past the earth has actually had higher concentrations of CO2 in the atmosphere. Why didn't the "Venus-effect" take hold? Two reasons: One, our orbit, or more precisely, our distance from the sun. We occupy the Goldilocks zone in our solar system. The second reason is because the earth (Gaia) is a self-correcting organism in a similar way to TennWaltz1. Example: an all out nuclear war would be bad. But over time life would rebound. That's because when you cut the earth, there is a scar, and eventually it heals.

I wouldn't go that far. Yet, in a bizarre way the answer may be yes. That gigantic planetary crash that happened billions of years ago resulting in the creation of the moon could've destroyed the earth. But some scientists now speculate it helped create the world we know today.

I like this site a lot of good people to argue with and get a different point of view. If you just talk with the people you agree with you miss how the rest of the world thinks.
Good stuff...however understand since I am a bubble headed God believer I still cling to the haphazard notion that He is still in control...but I won't totally discount scientific theory.

Yes Tex...and those "sefies" from Walmart looking folks have a tendency to turn me off as well...however for an old coach it is a great way to keep up with former players and students...even if they say or link stupid stuff. I don't post much but I do like it when they tell me that my being an ass helped prepare them for life...and I love seeing their kids and yes even grandkids. I wish everyone a "Happy Birthday" and keep my thoughts to myself.
