Justin Mejia matches

Do you happen to have a video of Kemdogs match against the S Dakota St kid? Or a match recap on how he put up so many points. Brandon had to really work for his points against him.

Thanks for posting these.

Justin has gotten a lot bigger. I love his motor. I also like how he was able to just ignore the other guys extra curricular stuff. Hammer on top. He is going to be a fun one to watch.

According to his family, he will be heading down to 126. The guy he beat in the finals was ranked #3 at 126, though both of them might end up going down it sounds like.

I do not have video of Kemerer vs Kocer unfortunately, but I will say Kemerer came into his finals match with a lot of confidence after beating both Stroker and Thomsen in the same day.

Thanks. He totally dominated the #3 kid. He just needs to work through that guys strategy of keeping it close. He was letting the kid slow him down too much. Justin looked really good.

Definitely not counting anybody out but absolutely giving out my Xmas wish list.

Also my personal opinion is JRen grows into 41.

Will see about renteria moving up. Sat by his family at night of conflict and they are talking 125 all the way. Said he is real focused now on his nutrition. A lot can change in 2-3 years.

.

you mean going down to 120?

This is only the 2nd time I've seen Mejia on video. I'm sure you don't become a 2x Cafilfornia state champ without having "game", but does he usually score more takedowns?

Thank you for all the support I will try to post more matches this year or let u guys know when u guys can watch him as of now Clovis wrestling will be on

Thanks Jaysdad please list the clovis site again as I lost it from last year. Enjoy watching your son live and other clovis wrestlers. Be great if your son could convince some of his wrestling teammates to come and take a look at the Hawkeyes. ;)

If he played the takedown/escape game, I'm sure he could rack up the takedowns, but he's a great rider and likes to work on top. From a development standpoint, I like seeing kids really hone their riding skills in high school, as that's a less common skill. He did take Austin Gomez down without much trouble at Agon in Cedar Rapids. That tells me all I need to know about his skills from neutral.

I think Justin is going to be a lot like Tony Ramos at the college level -- except he's a more punishing rider. I think he'll be a fan favorite much like Tony, too.

was just wondering about you jays dad. hadn't heard from you Justin looks great in the videos ht3 posted, looks to be growing up and filling in.

Jaysdad, I assume Justin already knows this, but he has a whole lot of fans pulling for him out here in Iowa, even this year! We're fired up for him to become one of the very few CA 4-timers! Best wishes to you both from the biggest, most passionate fan base in the history of collegiate wrestling.

I had a question for Jaysdad. What type of impact did the Grapple on the Gridiron have out in California? Was there a buzz about it in the wrestling community? Did you guys get a chance to travel out for it?

A little side note about that tournament in Newbury Park. So two future Hawks won their weights classes with Mejia and Luke Troy getting top honors. Troy was the MVP. Also Dan friggin Gable was in attendance and signed autographs. Wonder if the future teammates got to soak in any Gable knowledge. Speaking to the depth in CA BTW, defending Champ Clovis came in 2nd to Selma HS. Troy's King HS came in 3rd.

We here in Hawk country appreciate anything that we can see of him, as I'll repeat what's already been said, but we are pulling for him to be a CA 4-timer and pulling for him at all times!! You have the Hawkeye fan base on your side!!! Continue the great work Justin, and we all wish all of you and your family continued success and health!!
