Very nice pick-up. Feels like a King type of recruit - smaller, under-recruited athlete who plays with an edge and can play multiple positions, including returning kicks ! 163lbs - welcome to training table, please help yourself to seconds.

Uhhh, not under-recruited by Iowa standards. He has at least 18 offers and most of them are from FBS schools, including multiple P5 offers.
I'm excited about Hooker - I think that he's going to turn out to be one heck of a ball-hawking safety.Impressive looking athlete. He and the Hooker kid from Minnesota look like twins on film. Except for Hooker is almost 200 lbs (I think ).
Smooth, very athletic can make people miss.

I was really impressed with Billings. That dude makes things happen. If I had to guess which of these young DBs we're gonna be talking about in three years, it'd be him. I think a lot of schools are going to look silly for not going after him.I completely agree ghost..... and I'm absolutely baffled that more schools were not involved in his recruitment - especially Minnesota and Jerry Kill who normally has a very good eye for talent and is (was) committed to aggressively recruiting MN kids. I mean Hooker has done it all - QB, RB, WR safety, corner, and PR/KR for Brooklyn Park - clearly one of the best athletes in the State. Could be the steal of this Iowa class.
Billings is not unlike Jackson, in that he essentially projects just as well at WR as he does at CB. I think that once he hits Iowa, both the O and the D are going to be fighting for him to be in their room.I was really impressed with Billings. That dude makes things happen. That is probably the best thing about this season, it is going to help recruiting out so much! Epenesa, commit now please.
Thank you KJ! You will love being a Hawkeye as much as we love having you on the team!Just watched some of the Hudl tapes out there on our DBs .... looks like some really nice high school talent at DB. I think that a few will break through and be great contributors. It will be fun to see the guys develop. Sails definitely looks good ... it appears as though his team needed/wanted him more on O than D as a SR. Most of his highlights were on the O side of the ball.
Phil Parker is one heck of a coach ... he seems to do really well with those versatile athlete types. Amari Spievey was one of them ... Bob Sanders was one of them ... Bradley Fletcher was one of them ... Desmond King is one of them ... I'm excited to see how the "new batch" turn out!

Except that the vast majority of these guys committed well before the season even started.
Yep, there is usually a year or two lag between success on the field and success in recruiting. The season will certainly help for the 2017 class.
This is an important decision for him. If he's uncertain he should take more time. It's too bad he committed and then reopened but if it were our son we'd encourage him to be absolutely certain. He still has the Hawks high on his list so when he concludes his consideration and if the Iowa offer is still on the table, hopefully we see him in black and gold. Coach Ferentz and staff are straight shooters and no other program will do more to help you reach the next level if that's your desire.
Don't think they offer Beyer because they don't need his position. They need OTs, DB and DT.
